Just that really! Does anyone know what material is warm and cosy, other than wool please?

Silk, cotton, merino (wool but not scratchy)

I have actually found some acrylic jumpers to be soft and cosy. I had a few out of tescos. They looked like wool but felt extremely cosy but surprised me to find they were acrylic.
Marks will have a fair few.
Have you tried cashmere? You will never look back!

@princessonabudget

Why not wool, can I ask?
I find it itchy and always shrink it! I have allergies, although I don't think wool is one of them, but it does make me itchy.

I do have a fine merino jumper which is fine, but it isn't very warm. Maybe because it is fine knit though, rather than the wool itself.

Acrylic works well for me.
(Also can't wear wool because of the unbearable itch).

Uniqlo soufflé

I know they're wool/animal fibre but merino I find good or alpaca wool or cashmere. Especially with a silk thermal on underneath.

MoltonSilver · 03/01/2021 08:58

I have the same problems with wool but have found that if there's 20-40% wool in the mix (ideally with cotton) I get the warmth without the disadvantages.

I'd suggest looking at www.woolovers.com

Lots of knits, non-itchy woollens and alternative fibres

Cotton takes ages to dry. Acrylic bobbles, but is probably the best alternative.

Wool is actually the best option for warmth (shame about the risks of shrinkage and being eaten by moth lavae). Have you tried wearing a long-sleeve top underneath?
