spf for oily/acne prone skin

Shamefully I don't use spf on my face and I know I should, especially because I suffer terribly with cystic acne and have read countless times spf is a must for acne prone skin! I just worry I will spend a fortune on something that will break me out. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I like la Roche posay anthllios ultra light.

Heliocare 360 Oil-Free Gel SPF 50 - you can get it on Amazon for about £18

Another vote for this one. Have used this since the summer since I bought of my skincare specialist. My skin has never been better - I started using this and dropped my day moisturiser only using moisturiser at night.

So simply my routine after washing is serum then sunscreen and i have had no breakouts!

Does the heliocare feel silicon-ey on the skin? Frezyderm just felt yuck to me because of the silicon, like my skin was coated. I think heliocare contains silicon but it’s quite far down on the ingredient list so hoping not very noticeable.

I would say no, not at all. It feels like a thin liquid product that spreads nicely across my face.

I’m glad you went to the dr, I took roaccutane and it changed my life.

I was offered it at 30 but turned it down due to media scare stories. I would’ve taken capsules of powdered dog shit to cure it by the time they offered it to me at 40.

I agree the Heliocare doesn't feel silicone-y.

I usually get the Bioré from eBay and Amazon but have heard scare stories of fakes. I think the issue is that they change the packaging, and to a lesser extent, the formulation, quite frequently, so there isn't much consistency when trying to spot fakes.

To the pp who said the Bioré didn't suit due to sensitive, spot-prone skin - expected the same, to be honest (as also have that skin) and was surprised when it worked for me!

Someone else mentioned ISDIN - I've used their body SPF in the past and it was brilliant for sensitive skin.

I really like the Paula's Choice Fluid SPF 50 (www.paulaschoice.co.uk/resist-anti-aging-youth-extending-daily-hydrating-fluid-broad-spectrum-spf-50-m7800.html) - very light and matte, no scent either.

The magic word(s?) to look for are 'non-comedogenic'. I don't buy any sunscreen for my acne-prone skin that doesn't have that on the bottle.
