Help me understand the curly girl method!

I've been wanting to try it for a few years, but I'm not majorly into my beauty stuff and I can't get my head around all the products and acronyms. I definitely have naturally curly hair but it's more fluffy and wavy at the moment and I'd like it to look more exciting. I also have a bit of an issue that I'm allergic to a lot of products (pantene has been one of the only brands I've consistently gotten on with). Does anyone have an idiot proof guide to the curly girl method?

I have had curly hair all my life , have you tried just diffusing with product? It's all I do . The main thing for me that changed since someone thought of 'curly girl' is that I put my product on while my hair is super wet and 'plop' for 20 mins before diffusing (!this just means piling the hair on top of my head in a micro fibre towel ) . Try cantu products for a cheap start . They sell shampoo , conditioner and curl cream so it's a good start .

It's quite easy really, just use sulphate free shampoo and silicone free conditioner and styling products and dry upside down with a diffuser. I've always worn my hair curly and it's made it feel softer and less frizzy but not curlier. I tried Co washing but it made my hair too flat and less curly.

You can do it two ways:

Get very obsessed with facebook groups and which products are OK or not and practically get a science degree. There may also be something called co-washing that I don't understand and never worked for me.

Buy shampoo without SLS, all conditioner and styling products without silicones and use as normal. There are lots of brands like this designed for curly hair. It's a lot easier.

No combing, only ever dry with a diffuser, don't touch your hair while it dries.

I buy mine at www.naturalisticproducts.co.uk/ who helpfully have a CG friendly section.
