Can someone recommend some warm waterproof boots that aren't wellies please? I find wellies cold even with thick socks on.

You need lined wellies, Le Chameau are great if budget allows or muck boots are a bit cheaper.

DuesToTheDirt · 30/12/2020 19:55

Muck boots are very toasty. It's like wearing slippers.

skippetyskoo · 30/12/2020 19:58

A good pair of walking boots, ideally designed for winter climates. Saloman have lots.

I have these, I love them they are really warm even without socks!

You need muck boots, warm, durable and comfortable

AnotherEmma · 30/12/2020 20:13

I quite like my Vans waterproof walking boots, I haven't tested them out by jumping in puddles as I expect they won't be as waterproof as wellies, but they can certainly keep my feet dry with normal walking in wet weather, and they're very warm. They come up big so my advice is to go down half a size.

I got some Sketchers walking boots today, they’re like these:

Really amazingly warm and comfy, I did a walk in a rural area today round frozen lakes and my toes were so cosy

Sorrel boots are fantastic

bellagogosdead · 30/12/2020 20:23

Would they work in sub zero temperatures? They look quite nice, though made for horse riding I see :)
Imiss2019 · 30/12/2020 20:24

I have muck boots they’re really warm never need bother with thick socks even in the snow.

ZubinB · 30/12/2020 20:25

Quechua on the Decathlon website do some great waterproof/snow boots - very reasonable price too. I got some for £13 and this week had them in the snow and they kept my greet snug and dry.

ZubinB · 30/12/2020 20:26

Link below - they have lots more too:

Can highly recommend the Emu Pioneer...

EMU Australia Women's Pioneer Midnight Snow Boots https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07B2L6D1V/ref=cmswwrcppapifabccwlo7FbMQP4CHA?encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Can be dressed up or down. I wear for my dog walk and they're blissful. Plus completely waterproof and I just wipe down any mud that gets on them.

newmummy8789 · 30/12/2020 20:42

@Gwenhwyfar I have just walked the dog in them, my feet were not cold, I didn't fall on my fat arse and it's -2 here at the moment Smile

Thanks. I think they look very nice and are not too expensive. I'm looking for something that would do in temperatures ranging from 5 to about -5.

Gwenhwyfar · 30/12/2020 21:31

I also have a bunion and wide feet at the front. I can't get wide fitting shoes because they're wide all over so getting shoes that fit comfortably is quite a challenge.

newmummy8789 · 30/12/2020 21:46

@Gwenhwyfar I also have wife feet and a high instep so finding good boots is a nightmare! These are good because they lace up and I got a bigger size...I probably didn't need the bigger size because I won't need thick socks because of the fleecy lining Smile

SallyCinnamon3009 · 30/12/2020 21:58

Timberlands

Sounds great. Are they comfortable enough for hiking?

Gwenhwyfar · 30/12/2020 22:21

Oh, but they've stopped their EU deliveries anyway Sad

LaPampa · 30/12/2020 22:29

Sorrel keep my feet toasty. I also have Salomon walking boots (but not winter ones as I wear them all year round) and the sorrels win hands (feet?) down for toasty toes.

newmummy8789 · 30/12/2020 22:35

@Gwenhwyfar aww no....keep an eye out they might start again soon. I wouldn't know about hiking im afraid 😦
