Rosacea help for redness, please help (Neostrata?)

Has anyone found anything for redness, please help me?

I have successfully used Soolantra for spots and bad skin. I now have a new variation - redness and burning.

NEOSTRATA REDNESS NEUTRALISING SERUM - 29G (sorry for capitals) has been recommended by Vogue.

Following - i've just finished a tube of soolantra but hasn't helped the general reddness at all

'Kalme' cream cleanser for anti redness. Can be removed with cotton wool, so handy for travelling/camping. Really good for Rosacea. Helps get flare ups under control.

Another useful product is 'Kalme' chameleon concealer. It's a green liquid that is miraculous for evening out redness. It literally disappears before your eyes!

The 'Kalme' cleanser and concealer are specifically designed for problem skin and fairly reasonable too (I'm not a fan of their moisturiser though.)

Following with interest - I think I have rosacea, but no acne at all, just redness and thread veins. I've been doing azaelic acid for a couple of months now, and it hasn't helped the redness at all.
I was thinking of doing an online consultation next week to try Mirvaso - I use Rosalique as a very effective coverup, but don't like to be wearing foundation all the time

WineNotTheLabel · 01/01/2021 13:47

I have foundation that covers it but my skin feel horrible for days afterwards.

My skin stings if I put anything on it. I use Soolantra and Double Base as my moisturiser, £8 for 500g.i also use The Ordinary and Estée Lauder Night Relief. Is used to take anti biotics and stopped when the spots went away (thank god).

I'm suspicious of Beauty Editors recommending anything. I'll see what the ingredients of the cream in my op are.

I'm just out of the shower and bright red. My DM and sisters don't have this.I have always had a florid complexion if I get hot or exercise, rosacea came on when I hit my 40s.I don't have wrinkles.

Have you tried Rosex gel op? It is a typical antibiotic gel, which does help with the spots, but for some reason also seems to tackle redness.

The other thing I've tried is The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin. Also, try to find your triggers; obviously heat is one of them. For lots of people it is alcohol. For me it is stress and hormonal changes which are quite annoying triggers to have as they are difficult to avoid!

WineNotTheLabel · 01/01/2021 17:16

I tried Rosex a few years ago for spots and it didn't seem to do much.

I think it might be lactose and stress. i didn't drink over Christmas and it was still red like sunburn. It feel like an allergy so I definitely need to find out what my triggers are.

Orange juice was a trigger for me when I realised that it made a massive difference

Pantheon · 01/01/2021 17:26

Laser treatment helped with the flushing which in turn stopped the redness. And I find dermalex rosacea good too
Hot showers/baths are a trigger for me

Soontobe60 · 01/01/2021 17:27

Ive given up trying to get rid of the redness - I know its triggered by heat/cold variations, wine, wind.
I use a hot wash cream cleanser every morning in the shower then follow up with a serum - I’ve tried all sorts but now just stick with ALDI’S own brands. I use a light BB cream if I’m facing the public to slightly even out the redness. Trying to cover it up completely would need thick foundation, which I cant stand. They seem to cause the least amount of flare ups. One problem I now have is mask wearing. My face feels really sore after a trip round the supermarket.

LaMadrilena · 01/01/2021 17:31

I have it fairly mildly (redness, occasional outbreaks of little pimples) and I find that Avene Antirougeurs helps. There are various creams - day/night/intense etc.

My doctor prescribed Lymecycline tablets. Cleared mine up in 2-3 months. That was 5 or so years ago. I've had one more bout of it since and the same tablets worked again.

WineNotTheLabel · 01/01/2021 22:32

Soolantra was life changing for me, it cleared really red angry spots within a few days. The redness was always there but the sunburn type reaction is new and only started a few weeks ago.

I use hot cloth cleanser as a mask in the shower. I am not looking forward to Teams/Zooms in work. Before Christmas I sent a warning. Totally over it now.

I use la roche posay cicaplast b5 for the red sunburn look that I get and then bioderma global cover

It takes a bit of time. I have mine alongside oral antibiotics and does the trick!

Rosalique is good - l find it a little thick but it does cover redness.
