Olaplex 0 + 3

Following a disappointing visit to a salon back in August for a full head of highlights, my hair has not been the same. What was once really great condition is now lackluster and frizzy.

As a result of recommendations I've finally plucked up the courage to invest in some Olaplex (No. 0 & 3 to be precise), but am looking for any hints and tips for first application - the products aren't cheap so I want to be sure I'm getting the most bang for my buck!

If it makes any difference, my hair length is to my bra strap, naturally has a wave/curl to it, and I have a lot of it (not "thick" per sé, just a lot of follicles Grin), so am already anxious how not to use an entire bottle in one application!

So for olaplex 3. Wet your hair and towel dry. Apply olaplex to the dry ends of your hair. Rub it in. Use a small blob at a time.

Leave as long as possible - at least 4 hours or overnight.

Wash and condition.

I've not used olaplex 0 as it looks mighty expensive and olaplex 3 works for me once a week.

I have twice bleached ends which are pretty much perfect. They were last cut in July.

Sorry not the dry ends. The ends.

I found video useful. Nadine Baggott also has a great video on it too.

I have just finished my bottle of no.0 and reckon I got 5 treatments out of it on my shoulder length fine hair. just section your hair like she does in the video and I would concentrate on mid/ends of your hair then comb through. I personally then put a shower cap/plastic bag on my head for at least 15 minutes (so hair doesn’t dry out) before then applying the No.3 on top and combing through. If your hair doesn’t feel wet enough I use a plant spray to mist over with water so hair is properly saturated. Then back on with shower cap for half hour minimum (though I usually leave on an hour or two, before washing and conditioning as usual.

Reviews I've read have said not to waste it on your roots. It doesn't go far so save it for where you need it.

Olaplex has a max efficiency of 45 mins so no point leaving it on any longer than that

If you can, get hold of a 525 ml bottle of the Olaplex 2. It's much more cost-effective than the Olaplex 3.

That's exactly what I needed, thanks so much!

I don't really understand all the different numbers. The shampoo/conditioner straightforward but the others 🤷‍♀️

TuxedoPantherSheHer · 01/01/2021 08:26

I have hair similar to yours and I get two applications from a bottle of Olaplex 0.

Just section hair, apply and comb through. Then 10-15 minutes later comb through about 50ml of Olaplex 3. Wait for an hour or so then wash and condition as usual.

Ornamentalcabbages · 01/01/2021 12:34

I'd like to report back that it's been a massive success!

I followed the directions as per the YouTube video shared above and my hair is amazingly soft and no longer a frizzy mess of straw!

I managed to use about ⅕ of the No.0 and maybe ¼ of No.3 - a little definitely goes a long way when you section and comb through!

I have spent most of the morning recommending it to my friends Grin Grin
