I need a smart outfit for work, to go to meetings and meet the boss etc, and I need your help.

For my actual job I can wear black trousers and a white top and a fleecey jacket as it is more practical and I want to look more like one of the gang than 'the boss'.

However, I am going to Oxford to meet my new boss and team manager and I want to look smart but not official but professional.

My boss is v sophisticated and elegant and although I dont think I can pass that off I would like to look as professional as possible.

I am 5ft 6", size 14 and have blonde brown hair in a pob which is quite trendy. Big boobs, short waisted.....aaargh I need a body transplant!!

I was thinking of something in a steel grey as I really dont want black. Nothing round necked and nothing too revealing. I like accessories and think I would prefer trousers.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help.

I only got the job today in promotions and I am going to be recruiting and can wear the black and white for that but I thought I would like to be smarter for the meeting on Wednesday.

OK not grey. Could I not wear grey trousers and then a warmer coloured top like a turquoise or something ?? (Not that turquoise is warm but just a colour I mean?)

well if you never wear grey then dont start now! wear colours that are more "you" but still professional

do you wear navy or brown or dark green or dark purple?

i agree with annie - v necks always good with big norks

i find a jacket gives me confidence but need to choose carefully

Isnt that school uniform?

Yes, I do wear brown and navy and dark green etc I think it was just that I saw some nice things in Principles that were grey and I thought they were nice and might suit me...with another colour though as well.

I do have a long dark green v neck sweater thing that is sleeveless that would look nice with a shirt and trews.

Havent worn it yet.

Something like this? So how long is your green top? Could work with grey trousers. Principles have nice looking ones, but you'd need to do a mass trying-on session, I think.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 26/10/2007 21:52

Or something like this with a bit of colour in it that you could then pick up with accessories. You'd have to see them in rl to see how subtle the colour was though.
