Kissing beardy men - how do you counter the havoc this causes for your skin?

So I've been dating a new man in a socially distanced and remote way for the last few weeks. He's lovely but he's got a beard and my experience of kissing beardy men in the past has been red raw skin and my very own red beard rom the rawness - not a good look! I wear quite heavy makeup which is always completely rubbed off and my acne always seems to flare up. This is usually the result from just from one evening of kissing as I don't actually think I've had a proper relationship with a man with a beard before - just casual encounters. But given so many men have beards, and I don't see many women walking around with the lower half of their face bright red and spotty other people would appear to have a solution for this. Can anyone tell me what it is?!

I should add that we obviously won't be kissing any time soon but I'm trying to be prepared for the moment, if and when it comes!

Avene skin recovery cream usually sorts any stubble rash out for me.

If it's really bad , either hydrocortisone (the low strength one you can get over counter) or light application of calamine lotion!

Beards are disgustingly dirty so I stopped kissing him.

I’m hoping they’ll become seriously out of fashion soon & he’ll shave the damned thing off.

In my experience beards are a lot softer than stubble, a few hours after a shave a good kissing session could leave my face red raw, never happened with DP and his beard, and he washes it regularly so of course it's not dirty

Haha my ex had this. He needs to use oils on his beard and moisturise your chin loads.

Hmm, yeah, I'm hoping he uses beard oil - that would help! I'll look into the Avene skin recovery cream and calomine lotion. Sadly I don't think it's a fashion at all when it comes to men past a certain age. Older men have always had beards, often to hide skin problems and the signs of ageing.

I agree it’s softer than stubble. When l’ve ben with bearded men, l’ve always got them to shampoo it everyday and then use hair conditioner.

Ben - been. He wasn’t called Ben. Grin

How long is the beard? Stubble irritates my skin terribly, but my husband's full beard doesn't irritate at all. My husband's beard is soft and the hairs point downwards so it doesn't really cause an issue.
