I have 'above my shoulder' length hair, straight but inclined to be fluffy. I get it cut in layers so I can curl it with a round brush and dry it sort of wavy - do you know what I mean? Only thing is it takes me forever to do as I am a bit unco, and I really don't have the time for it with the 2 DCs. Is there some sort of tool that will make it quicker, easier and better for an unco like me?

TIA

I have something like this:

www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1071527&classificationid=1049893&sl mRefer=000

which I use every other day (when I dont wash and dry, or straighten). My hair style is similar to your and instead of being fluffy is very fine and capable of being lank if I dont boost it up a bit.

How about you aslk your hairdresser some style tips and get them to show you how to use the products at home. I got into my GHDs after mine showed me how to use them. If they aren't forthcoming with ideas you like or have the time to do might be time to get a different hairdresser.

Thanks webchick, I guess thats the sort of thing I was thinking of. My hair is really fine too - it goes sort of frizzy and lank at the same time... I have a friend with similar hair to me who uses straighteners and ends up with a wavy style though, which confuses me.

GHDs! You can do all sorts of styles with them so easy, not just straight. See website here which has step by step instructions for various styles.

Second GHDs. I use them to straighten and also curl my hair and they are excellent.

There are also these TIGI curl sticks that you can buy and they can create big loose curls and smaller defined ones. My friend has one and swears by them. See below.
