Good quality girls leggings

M&S last about a month before holes start to appear and I find colours fade badly. Was a massive fan of Jojo until about a year ago however they seem to get holey really quickly now too (in particular where they put the price tag through the material..no matter how carefully I remove the tags, that is where the holes start). Any recommendations of leggings that look nice and don’t get holey? It’s not even like my kids are particularly rough on them! Girls - age 4-10 range.

I’ve never had problems with next leggings.

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 26/12/2020 16:16

My kids who are 10 and 7 pretty much exclusively wear leggings. They are mostly from Tesco, Sainsbury’s and H&M I don’t think we’ve ever had any problems.

John Lewis

Xmasbaby11 · 26/12/2020 16:23

We've had

Sainsburys
Next
John Lewis
Marks

They all got holey pretty quickly on my 9yo and only last a few wears so I have to buy a job lot every few months. I couldn't find any difference in the brands. Trying to get her to move onto something more hard wearing!

Lands End are pretty robust

TenShortStories · 26/12/2020 16:25

Boden have been the best I've found, but even then get holey eventually, always on the knees in my family.

nancybotwinbloom · 26/12/2020 16:37

I second next

TiersOnMyPillow · 26/12/2020 16:40

We usually get ours in Asda or Tesco, they keep their colour, even the navy ones still look new.

Juanbablo · 26/12/2020 16:50

H&M or Next

strawbmilk · 26/12/2020 16:57

Next and Tesco. Got some lovely thicker ones in Tesco earlier about September time. Sometimes I think leggings are too thin for winter.

moimichme · 26/12/2020 17:03

We've had Gap ones for my toddler son (they're easy to get on and off for potty training!) and they've been great for us. No holes at all, after months now.

KatharinaRosalie · 26/12/2020 18:30

Lindex does thick one with reinforced knees

starlight36 · 26/12/2020 19:51

Frugi - expensive but last really well

lilylongjohn · 26/12/2020 20:35

My dd (teenager) wears next leggings as they are thick, last and 'squat proof' as she calls them

HerselfIndoors · 26/12/2020 20:37

Agree with Next. I'm always searching for school leggings for DD who finds tights uncomfortable. Have had H&M, John Lewis, M&S, Gap and all the main brands - Next are relatively thick and good quality, don't get holes (or not before they're grown out of at least) and unlike many they are reliably available. I like H&M too, but they keep changing colours and styles so you can't always stock up.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 26/12/2020 20:37

Agree JoJo have gone massively downhill.

Next are cheap but I find the crotch usually goes so it’s a trade-off.

Kite and Frugi well made, wash well and wear well.

My (tall) five year old lives in (age 7-8) leggings.

AnjouPear · 26/12/2020 20:39

H&M - specifically the ones they call 'sturdy leggings' or something like that.

MabelMoo23 · 26/12/2020 20:40

Boden leggings definitely. Really quite thick and great quality

IsadoraDuncanDonuts · 26/12/2020 21:14

Boden last well, in my experience.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 26/12/2020 22:48

Make your own, might not last much longer but you’ll know how to mend them. They are an easy make, sewing machine, 1 piece for each leg, elastic and a waistband. Patterns for Pirates have a good free pattern, buy cotton Lycra fabric.

TheDuchessOfAquitaine · 27/12/2020 13:16

Ok...Gone with Next and Boden...fingers crossed I get more than a month out of those!
Thanks for the recommendations!
