Will my 2.5yr old microbladed brows ever disappear?

They've faded to a crappy red/brown colour which is slightly outside my real shape - if they'll ever go away completely I'm 'happy' to leave them and keep using a pencil over the top, but if they're going to stay like this forever I might have to get them redone to get the colour back. Wish I'd never done them!!!!!

I think it's to do with the pigments in the dyes used. Older dyes and cheaper ones had/have a tendency to contain iron oxide which is responsible for the pink toned after effect. My friend had hers done about 3 years ago and they went a weird plum colour which isn't fading.

Organic pigments are made from vegetable dyes which fade faster and are lifted by oil.

My practitioner doesn't use anaesthesic in order to not go too deep with her cuts - apparently numbing cream can give a false sense of how much the patient can take and the dye can be deposited too deeply. Last time I had mine done was 5 months ago and the strokes are lifting slightly so I'll expect a top up ( as soon as restrictions allow) in a couple of months. Mind you, I use retinol and vitamin c which probably contributes to their fade, even though I try and keep it away from my brows.

I have to say I’m rather delighted my three year old micro bladed eyebrows are still here. I kind of think they might be here forever now lol. Sorry 😬
