How to curl fine hair, with no technical skills!

I have fine wavy shoulder length hair. I have no hair skills but want to make more of the curl in my hair. Would anyone recommend an air wrap or similar? Using straightens to do curls is beyond me

There are lots of wide barrel tongs... It depends in your budget. Do you have a pic of the type of curl you want to achieve? I have a few devices and might be able to recommend 🤣

@doadeer lm think loose natural kind of waves. Keen to avoid the tight 90’s perm kinda vibe

I bought a random one off amazon for about £30 that works a treat. It’s called a wireless automatic curling iron. It’s dark grey and purple. I really struggle to curl my hair usually and this is so easy!
After years of struggling with curling with straighteners I can do it easily now.

I bought the mark Hill curling wand as you can change the barrels on it to achieve different looks, but I have never really mastered it. Got an air wrap a few weeks ago and it makes incredible curls which are SO simple..... but they drop really quickly and I am yet to find a product that holds them in. I got my airwrap on QVC so you can send it back if you don’t like it, I’m keeping mine as I love it, but it might be worth it for you incase you wanted to try before you commit properly.

I got an airwrap from QVC but the curls just wouldn't hold in my hair (very fine and straight) and it left my hair looking dull so I sent it back. It may work better in your hair if it's wavy.

I just can't manage to curl my hair with straighteners or a normal curling tong, just can't get the knack, so I bought this from Aldi and it's amazing! The barrel rotates and I just find it so much easier. Very impressed with it Smile

I've got a ghd wand and cheaper wands and I don't notice a huge difference. They both produce nice curls.

I would get some cheap ish ones from boots and just experiment, if I put more hair in and hold for less I get a looser curl.

When I've done my hair I spray with hair spray and pile up into a bun on my head for about an hour or overnight. This helps the curls stay in for me

Have you tried the dressing gown cord curling trick? (Google if not Xmas Grin)

I can never curl my hair but it looks lovely once I've done this x

Mine is relatively fine and I've abandoned any heat method. I tend to twist and fix it with grips after a quick blow dry to get a nice wave. Probably similar to the above.

I have fine hair with a bit of a wave, and learned how to curl it with a curling iron from watching tutorials on the blog 'The Small Things'. Sometimes I put damp hair into 3 or 4 plaits and let it dry if I don't want to heat style it. This creates nice beach waves.

The trick is to curl one forward then one backwards - they don’t clump together then.

You could try twisting your hair in sections when wet and pining them to your scalp. This lasts a few days, but again twist in different directions.

Might not be a bad thing to go for tighter curls if they tend to drop quickly.

I tried the dressing gown cord method for heatless curls, done on dried hair but i spritzed with water so slightly damp in hope took better. The tutorial I used had alternating curl directions & I didn't do best job of it, but it still turned out pretty well and although dropped still wavy.

I have very fine hair, and the headband and dressing gown cord methods work well. A light spritz with very diluted Lottabody setting lotion helps.
