Help! Can’t style new fringe.

My daughter has a new fringe. It looked lovely when she first had it done. Now she’s washed it, its fluffy and sticks out. She can’t replicate what the hairdresser did.
She’s tried straighteners, rewatching and blow drying. She doesn’t have any product in it though, perhaps we need some.
Does anyone have any styling advice? Anonymised before and after pics attached.

A touch of dry shampoo might make the fringe a bit less fluffy, and therefore more receptive to straighteners?

I don't think straightners work on a fringe in my experience.

Large brush to blow dry it. Also, dry it before drying the rest of the hair, might also have to re wet it.

There are some useful videos on You Tube

Round brush, straighteners to curl it under slightly at the ends and a tiny bit of wax.

I have a similar fringe and similar texture hair.

Thanks all. Will try suggestions.

Bring it all forward when its wet and dry it downwards, then to the left, then to the right. You want it thick and forward.

The image on the left shows she is parting it in the middle, don't do that. The one on the left is all thin, bring it forward. Don't use straighteners, it's all in the blow dry and will need wetting and drying every morning.

When I had a blunt fringe I followed Sali Hughes tutorial and it worked a treat! The crisscrossing action with a big bristle brush does work well. Your DD should be able to watch and follow it easily.

i 2nd the sali hughes method, been doing it for years :)

ILoveShula · 21/12/2020 18:23

Was going to suggest an off-centre parting and blowdrying from the sides, not from the front.

I was just coming on to recommend the Salk Hughes method. It’s the only thing that worked for me - looks fab and I’m useless at styling my hair!
