Can you recommend a foundation?

Slightly dry skin and a bit sensitive.
I usually use Nars Sheer Glow but it ran out and I have been using a sample of Laura Mercier Fusion Lumiere. I think the Laura Mercier is a touch too dark and a bit shiny. Which is a unusual for me but I’ve also started using tretinoin and full screen so that may be why.

I could go back to Nars but wondering if there’s anything else good I can try. I don’t get on with any of the Rimmel/L’Oréal type stuff, it either breaks me out or oxidises and looks crap. I have also used both the LM and the Nars tinted moisturisers but want a little more coverage. I don’t like minerals at all.

N7 Hydraluminous is my new holy grail and I've used all high end more expensive ones (Armani, Chanel, Nars, Lancome, etc etc) it has the coverage of "sheer" glow (which I always think is the most wrongly named foundation out there as it's neither sheer or glowy! )

Marmaladegin · 17/12/2020 21:19

Yep same- hydroluminous.

DidgeDoolittle · 17/12/2020 21:22

I either use hydra luminous or Bobbi Brown stick foundation.

domesticslattern · 17/12/2020 21:25

Yes yes to Number 7 if they can colour match you. I was in between two shades so never quite looked right sadly. It's good stuff.
If you need expensive Smile then Bobbi Brown is very good. My skin sounds like it is similar to yours- slightly dry, a bit sensitive, not looking for full coverage but tinted moisturiser not cutting it. I have been wearing Bobbi Brown for ages, after moving from Laura Mercier due to a discontinued product.

Another vote for No. 7. I don't wear makeup much at all, but this is my go to foundation when I do.

MrsPworkingmummy · 17/12/2020 21:30

I use Phoera. It's amazing. X

nomorecrumbs · 17/12/2020 21:31

I used to love No 7, the colour matching is certainly v good, but is anyone concerned about the parabens in them? I stopped using their products when I realised.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 18/12/2020 02:20

Re colour matching. I just mix 2 colours together to get the shade I want if I'm in between shades. I thought that's what everyone did as you're never going to find your exact shade with every brand

Suqqu is exceptional. I have combination sensitive skin and also like Sheer Glow but Suqqu somehow blurs all redness and imperfections without being majorly pigmented and heavy. It's excellent stuff, but pricey. It's like Chantecaille Future Skin.

Girlintheframe · 18/12/2020 05:46

I have dry sensitive skin too.

My two go to for glow are Mac Waterweight and Bareminerals complexion rescue tinted moisturizer.

The Bareminerals has been a game changer for me.

If you want something with more coverage BB Skin long wear foundation is brilliant. Looks exactly like skin and isn't drying. Not as glowy as the other two but not matt either

This was useful to me as I'm watching what chemicals I knowingly expose myself to.

TheSilentStars · 18/12/2020 06:25

Oh, forgot, I have the Bobbi Brown serum one as well. Lovely.
(Also dry and sensitive here)

Kjaer Weis is BEAUTIFUL. Very glowy, build able to medium coverage, good shade range.
