Would you cut a fringe into DD's hair? 20 months old, picture attatched

Her hair is still pretty short so I can't decide whether a proper fringe would look silly.

This is her hair, bed head and all.

The reason I'm debating is because it is forever covering her face, gets in the way of her eyes and she doesn't tolerate wearing clips to pin it back.

Yes or nah?

Yes

FPS123 · 10/12/2020 09:47

Would she wear it in a little bobble instead of a clip?
I think a fringe could be cute if it wasn’t too blocky, but it’s still very fine.
She is very cute!

randomsabreuse · 10/12/2020 09:48

Half ponytail? Once you have a fringe you have to maintain it and then it's definitely clips if she hates haircuts more!

IdblowJonSnow · 10/12/2020 09:50

Yes. My dd had similar hair at that age and had a fringe for a few years before growing it out.
Cute!

FelicityPike · 10/12/2020 09:51

I would....and did when my DD’s hair was similar.

TheGriffle · 10/12/2020 09:55

I’d do a sort of side fringe, it’s what I do with my dd.

Def cut it though and get it out of her eyes.

Love fringes on little girls. And more practical than bloody bobbles.

Palmtree3 · 10/12/2020 10:03

Yes. It’s what I done with dds hair.

CharitySchmarity · 10/12/2020 10:03

I think almost everyone looks better with a fringe, so it's a definite yes from me.

FippertyGibbett · 10/12/2020 10:04

Yes.

SoupDragon · 10/12/2020 10:05

Absolutely! DD had a fringe for practical reasons until she was about 7 when she wanted to grow it out. She's now 14 and has a fringe again.

SoupDragon · 10/12/2020 10:06

Bobbles and clips were a PITA.

BiscuitDrama · 10/12/2020 10:09

Fringe and bob looks fine so I wouldn’t think it’s too short.

The only thing is once you have a fringe you need to keep getting it cut. Whereas if you can get through the pain of getting it long enough then you don’t have that. I would say 3/4 of girl toddlers have fringes though?

Santaisironingwrappingpaper · 10/12/2020 10:10

If she won't manage styling /bobbles then committing to having her sit for fringe recuts won't be easy..

GameSetMatch · 10/12/2020 10:10

No, clip it back until it can go in a pony tail or tucked behind her ears. Under 5s don’t want to be messing with fringes, sticky fingers, paint, snot etc, just manage till you can pin it back it will be easier to manage in the long run.

endofthelinefinally · 10/12/2020 10:19

If she doesn't tolerate clips a fringe is the best solution. I hate seeing kids squinting through hair.

Santaisironingwrappingpaper · 10/12/2020 10:35

Were you planning on doing the fringe yourself op?

Fringes on little ones are very cute. Dd had a short Bob and fringe.

I agree. Bobbles always look so painful when you see them so tight on a toddler’s head. It would give me a headache having something so tight on my head.
MillyA · 10/12/2020 11:31

I wouldn't be cutting it in myself no way, if I decide to have it done she will be going to a hair dressers lol

Imagine having to find time and appointment times to suit every few weeks..
Dd had a natural fringe bit but at 4 it grew out. At 31 she is still fringeless! Waay too much maintenance needed!!

MikeUniformMike · 10/12/2020 19:55

Half ponytail.

CrotchBurn · 10/12/2020 21:42

Fringes are fussy annoying and high maintenance. Why can't you just grow her hair out to be long enough to tie back fully when needed?

SoupDragon · 10/12/2020 22:27

Fringes are fussy annoying and high maintenance.

I've never found them to be any of those things. Constantly faffing about with clips and bobbles with a small child however....
