Most and least used palettes

I am often drawn in by new palettes but seem to end up giving them away when I realise I’m not using them. Worst offenders are ‘novelty’ palettes with lots of bright colours, often collaborations with famous people.

My most-used palettes are the Marc Jacobs 720 Glambition eyeshadow palette, a Nip+Fab four blusher palette which I absolutely love and my ride or die holy grail palette, Becca Après Ski Glow face palette. I especially like the blusher and the pink highlighter in that one.

My favourite is the Nars Summer Lights Face Palette. So neutral and blendable. The bronzer is matt and sheer and so smooth. It can also work as a blush if you CBA. The highlight can be used as a satin eyeshadow, but is still the perfect, subtle, non-glittery highlight. The eyeshadows two that fall between shimmer and satin that are a coolish taupey bronze that I adore and a wamer, but not too orange or gold bronze. Then two that fall between satin and matte - (but more matte) a terracotta brown and a deeper, cooler brown. I use them all.

The Narsissist had so much potential. Beautiful nude shades, lovely peaches and pinks. Everything was orange, except for the fuchsia. It was bruise purple and patchy AF. Looked like a Claire’s special. I’ve had better luck with Colourpop.

This thread has backfired on me because now I just want to buy all the palettes everyone has mentioned Xmas Grin

I was thinking the same OP. You now have more choice. I have the Anastasia glow palette. It's amazing.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 11/12/2020 00:54

Nars Wanted is excellent if you can still get your hands on it
Nars Afterglow

Santagetinmybubble · 11/12/2020 04:24

Most used UD Naked 2. Least Naked Heat. All wrong for me.

justilou1 · 12/12/2020 00:19

Nars Afterglow is the one that was all wrong for me. Isn’t it funny? Meanwhile, DD1 loves it.

BailOutChapsGingersGornSquiffy · 12/12/2020 10:55

Tempted by the Iconic Day to Slay - do any of those that use it wear contact lens?

PusheenLove · 14/12/2020 16:52

Bumping because I love palettes.

My current favourites are ABH Renaissance, and Kevin Aucoin contour.

Salcara · 14/12/2020 21:19

@RollneckJumper I agree with @ScienceSensibility - emilynoel on YouTube is good, plus also Wayne goss and Whitney Hedrick for hooded eyes

Palettes I love;
ABH Sultry
Smashbox Full Exposure (bargain from Cheshire Oaks)
Zoeva Basic Moments
Honourable mention to Elf Bitesize quads

Palettes that disappointed me;
Urban Decay Naked Basics (the larger palette) - couldn’t get any colour payoff so handed to DS
Huda Beauty - Rose Gold Remastered and Nudes... just didn’t like the way they applied
Morphe 25D - feels chalky, based on this I’d never buy Morphe again
TooFaced Under the Christmas tree set - I look like a Christmas tree using most of these... so much glitter!

For someone who barely manages to look ‘presentable’, I own too many palettes I’m enthusiastic but talentless

QueenPaws · 14/12/2020 21:36

I forgot another fave which is the lorac mega pro. Used the ABH sultry this week and did a really nice eye look I was pleased with

hammeringinmyhead · 15/12/2020 10:57

I finally chucked my Naked 1, 2, 3 and Basics this year as they were so old! I got them on their original release dates so up to 10 years ago. I now use Revolution palettes to be honest.

PuffinAir · 15/12/2020 19:14

I love UD Naked 3 and Cherry. I use all the shades, just vary several each day so the whole pallette gets used Grin

PusheenLove · 15/12/2020 19:25

@Salcara @QueenPaws Ladies, where can I find ABH Sultry? I can only seem to find it as part of a set (inc mascara etc). Do you have any other ABH pallets? Are they all the same quality?

optimisticpessimist01 · 15/12/2020 20:41

ABH Soft Glam, I use it every day without fail

QueenPaws · 15/12/2020 20:50

@PusheenLove I have soft glam, sultry and modern Renaissance and love them all

Housewife2010 · 15/12/2020 20:56

I have far too many palettes. I've just rediscovered my Mac limited edition Brooke Shields Gravitas palette. It is nude with some colour and it introduced me to Satin Taupe.

Scumble · 15/12/2020 21:03

Urban Decay Naked Cherry and Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue.

Have hit pan on three pans of the Stila (the fair one, I've got them all because I love the fair one so much, use the others a bit less often) and I'll definitely be repurchasing.

Scumble · 15/12/2020 21:03

Oh, I won't be repurchasing because they're discontinued Sad

Salcara · 15/12/2020 22:50

@PusheenLove I’ve also got Soft Glam, and like it almost as much as Sultry I like the feel of the eyeshadows They feel quite soft and buttery

I’ve just done a Google search and it looks as though Sultry has been discontinued? That might explain why it’s in a vault

Deathraystare · 16/12/2020 08:23

Most of my palettes are cheepies (MUA, Sleek - I think) but I also have some lovely ones I got from QVC - Doll 10/IT/Tarte. I hate the copper/beige sets that are all arond and not seeming to go anywhere - The Urban Decay stuff in particular (I used to love their more colourful sets but I am going back years!)

I had one or two Dior ones - pinks and purp[es in colour that I loved-mainly pinks and purples.

PusheenLove · 16/12/2020 20:51

Thanks ladies. I can't wait for the sales so I can complete my ABH pallette collection!

friendlyflicka · 17/12/2020 19:06

@ScienceSensibility I love Viseart. All their colours are just the right amount of pigmented. They are the only ones I buy now.
