Cross between lipstick & tinted lipbalm?

I've hardly ever worn lipstick before, but during lockdown I noticed on zoom that I looked really washed out and pale, so starting using a Berts Bees tinted lipbalm. I had a few nice comments after that about how well I was looking, so now I'm thinking of trying proper lipstick and am looking for recommendations for one that isn't too obvious, maybe half way between the tinted balm and a proper lipstick?

I have the Berts Bees in Red Dahlia, so if anyone's found something that the next level up from that it would be perfect. Bear in mind that I am not good at applying make up as normally just wear mascara, so it needs to be something that doesn't need brushes, lipliner, etc and preferably can be put on without a mirror!

I was going to suggest clinique chubby sticks too... just looked at the black honey...may have to purchase!

Just discovered Fenty Beauty’s Sheer Shiny lipstick. Great colours, and really moisturising.

THanks for all these ideas. I've ordered the clinique black honey and the burts bees fig shimmer. I am a bit wary about spending too much on the others until I can get to a real shop, but will definitely check them out. Lockdown & zoom have made me realise that my minimal make up, which is all exactly what I was using 20 years ago, might be due a rethink. So I might be back for more advice soon.

Can I add Chanel Boy lipstick to the list. It’s a lot of money but a really nice nude pink with a bit of shine. I know exactly what you mean about zoom calls, I am pale and look like death warmed up on the screen. Maybe add blusher to your routine? Bobbi brown does a nice cream blusher and you can use it on lips too.

Carmex Moisture Plus is really nice and I think the colour is a bit stronger than the Nivea and Burts Bees tinted lipbalms I've tried. Comes on several shades, though smaller high street stores may only stock one or two.

No 7 do a tinted lip balm. Quite greasy (read moisturising) and doesn't last but I quite like it in Poppy Petal as a daily balm.

I melted a piece of my favourite lipstick (it was already worn down and mishapen) with some pure coco butter and it hardened into a quite solid balm that melts on my lips. So you could try that (or just mixing some of a lipstick you like with some lipbalm. I am fairly certain thats all tinted lipbalms are anyway

Lip pencil then clear or tinted lip balm?

Another vote for Black Honey. I bought Burt’s Bees Red Dahlia having seen this video - Lisa Eldridge’s makeup videos are great.

Lancome do one called Shine Lover which is lovely.

Sleek lip oil is lovely and low key. All nice, and glossy and translucent; then over time the the pigment settles into your lips giving a natural look. Just bought it a couple of weeks ago. I've got the shade pink, which looks fine on my darker complexion, so I would suggest another shade for fairer skin tones.

Just bought a MAC ultra balm in a colour called Play with Me Confused on the back of advice on another thread.
It's very nice, feels great, very natural colour even though it is very red in the tube. Don't know if it lasts because I keep having to put it behind a mask!!
