Cardigans and jumpers for broad shoulders

Struggling to find ones that aren't too bulky and feel feminine. I'm an inverted triangle with pear tendencies. I just want to wear a sack 😂

Any suggestions?

Hi there, it is not easy is it...I have to be a bit careful with knitwear.I buy things with a bit of detailing that breaks up widest parts so either lines, clusters of flowers, colour blocks, cabling etc If wearing a plain jumper I wear a collared blouse to draw attention to that rather than more unforgiving areas.

Sugarhill Brighton have some that might suit, particularly any of their 'Rita' style. They have detailing in just the right places. I am very broad in the shoulders and across the back and find them fantastic. I get lots of compliments whenever I wear one of mine.

Aha these are great tips thanks! When I look at tops I wore a lot they seem to have those features. Back to the hunt.

A cowl neck can help.
Fitting nicely on the shoulders help too, and I find that raglan sleeves usually look better on me than sleeves that start at the upper arm.

I hate jumpers on me for this reason, I find wearing a neckless helps, a pendant style on a long chain.

I find that sweatshirts, jumpers and cardigans often make me look fat. I'm anything but.

It's the thickness, drape (or lack of it) and that they don't seem to fit properly.

M&S and Uniqlo are my preferred shops for thin jumpers, and M&S and New Look for cardigans, with a few chunky finds thrown in.

And the worst are thick polo neck jumpers especially fluffy ones. They make me look like a blob.
Stiff hoodies with logos across the chest are hideous on me.

I find a deep v or cowl neck are the most flattering. Polos, crew neck and puffs on the shoulders all make me look hideous!

Just to second Sugarhill Brighton - I'm tall with broad swimmers shoulders and a long back. Every t/jumper/blouse I've had from Sugarhill fits my frame well.
