Baby blue for Christmas Day?

Does Christmas Day outfit need to be red/green/sparkly?

I know that of course it doesn't, but ive seen a beautiful icy blue broderie anglaise dress that I thought would look fab with chunk DM's and some glitzy silver earrings.

What do you all think? Is it too summery??

Wear whatever you want! I've never worn red or green for Christmas. If it makes you feel better, I think icy blue is a perfect Christmas colour

Just wear something comfortable enough for a big dinner. I will be wearing a green dress.

Sounds lovely, so long as you're not likely to end up with gravy or red wine on it.

(If my Xmas day goes to plan I'll be wearing craghoppers, Goretex and walking boots Grin)

I wore a baby blue cashmere jumper and charcoal wool trousers one Christmas a few years ago and felt very put together.

This dress sounds amazing OP, could I ask where it’s from please
?

And definitely wear it on Christmas Day!

As an aside, do you wear your DMs in the house?

We prefer comfort over style when at home, and I'm afraid we walk around in slippers Grin

I generally always wear black for Christmas, and accessorize with a red lip, sparkly eye shadow and some bling

Wear whatever you like!

You sound very grown up and like the sort of woman I want to be!

I've worn baby blue for Xmas and New Years. With some silver sparkly accessories you look very wintery.

Otherplans · 03/12/2020 16:54

@TheBumbleNums thank you. No one has EVER paid me that compliment before.
😁
I will have to replace those items in my wardrobe now as the originals wore out.

Christmas day; I always used to go full glamour. Clingy dress, heels, lippy, hair tonged, bling.

However - every year i get into a stressy mess late morning in the kitchen splashing gravy around, and the heels come off. Then stuffed to the max at mid day and i'm regretting the fitted dress. Afternoon is always getting a bit sweaty squeezed up with 3 others on the sofa and fed up with the jingling bling. Getting down on the floor with DD and her toys regretting the sheer tights and the hair do has gone to hell. Clearing up and a bit too much to drink with more kitchen work in the late afternoon and the make up has slid off. Evening - i'm star fished on the sofa in my jim jams wishing i'd just worn them all day Grin

So - these last few years i've learned my lesson. I stick with a just a nice thin jumper dress with a bit of sparkle and my ever expanding opaque tights. Hair bunged up like it is every other day of the year and i'm much better for it :)

Hi everyone,

I will post a link to the dress, it's super pretty, and I recon it's got year round mileage!

Definitely going to bling it up.

And no, we don't wear shoes in the house (it'll be slippers!) but there will be at least one walk and I thought the DM look would make it a bit edgier/more wintry.

It is loose and floaty so definitely comfortable
