Cosy trousers

Hello...I'm on the hunt for trousers that are not jeans for Winter walks and general outdoor activities. Jeans make my legs feel freezing in cold days. I'd prefer to steer clear of leggings as my legs are quite chubby and prefer slim/skinny cut. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks Smile

I've been looking at these Heattech thermal trousers from Uniqlo for working from home. The way they're styled here is more smart than outdoor but I think with a jumper and trainers/boots they might fit the bill?

I get the thick black maximum warmth thermal tights from marks.
And then wear winter dresses.

So warm and looks nice

I’ve got some cords from Monki which are lovely and cosy.

Boopear · 05/12/2020 07:33

I have those uniglo trousers and highly recommend. Not only do they keep you lovely and cosy, but due to the nature of the material they also seem to squish everything in. Warm and flattering!

2 layers is the way to go. I use running tights under my regular trousers or merino thermals.

For serious warmth and weather resistance, look at outdoor brands Rohan are not cheap, but work really well and last forever.

I have warm winter regatta trousers that are amazing for when I'm working outside all day.

dudsville · 05/12/2020 07:36

What about corduroy? You can get fine needle cord if you're worried about bulk. I've recently decided that didn't bother me and as a result I also have a fabulously comfy baggy pair that are the bigger cord. Most of mine is by the US brand Eddie Bauer, they do great sales and sometimes they carm be found on Amazon, but i also have COS and Toast. All great qualities, just different styles.

fitzbilly · 05/12/2020 07:36

Yes I agree you need outdoor brands designed for winter. Not fashion brands.

@Boopear I've never bought from there before...what is sizing like? I'm a 14/16 on bottom half and was thinking of going for the large?

try those, you won't regret. Super warm, very flattering, and cotton - I can't wear polyester for long periods of time.

@fluffyugg I have another similar pair of trousers from Uniqlo (not heattech) - I'm similar to you and the large is perfect for me.

Boopear · 05/12/2020 15:28

@fluffyugg just sent this! I’m the larger end of 12-14 and got a medium.

Lurkingforawhile · 05/12/2020 15:32

I wear m and s thermal leggings under my ordinary outdoor trousers. They're thin enough and it's very cosy and warm.

Member741788 · 05/12/2020 16:03

If you like jeans but find them too cold then I’d recommend the Uniqlo heattech thermal jeans, they have sort of a fleecy lining and they’re very warm stretchy and comfortable. I bought them for going out to park etc but I’ve actually been wearing them at home because they’re so soft and warm. I didn’t look properly at the size charts and just ordered the biggest size (34) which I would say is a solid uk18.
