Foundation, help?!

Hi I'm after a new foundation and I don't know where to start. I used Mac for years but felt it was too cakey.
Chanel used to irritate my skin, think it was too perfumed.
I liked Estée Lauder double wear but think they matched me the wrong shade and sometimes felt it would oxidise and look ridiculous. Also could be cakey but I think that might have been my application Blush

My skin can get a bit oily in the t-zone and get occasional dry patches but not often. I get breakouts on my chin during my period.
I prefer medium coverage that's buildable to full

Any and all help welcome, thanks in advance!

Try IT cc cream which you can build up and will last all day.

Another recommendation for IT's CC cream.

Thanks @OrangeBlossom28 @TheBaroucheBox

What is the coverage like on it? Just read some reviews were some say it's too sheer and others say too heavy Confused

I bought this on a whim from an Instagram advert and now I'm obsessed with it...

Do you have dry skin by any chance?Sounds like you need something lighter. I liked the cover of double wear but not the feeling, so switched to double wear fresh/nude/light (can't remember which it is! And it's much better!

Im on day one of using a new foundation. The hourglass stick one. So far so good though.
I was like you, long term Mac, switched to face and body which is lighter and good, but I found I didn’t use it as often over lockdown as I couldn’t be bothered. I bought the hourglass one after reading the reviews saying it was quick and mess free and to be fair it is with one of those flat top brushes.

Coverage can be very full if you apply it with a stippling brush. I use my fingers as I find it applies far better.
Watch Rose Gallagher on IG; she uses it and shows it off best (it covers her rosacea really well).

Just looked at her Instagram, she's converted meGrin

Now, anyone got any eyeliner picks for a newbie?

Ooh fab! Just make sure you get the original one. Also if you buy from QVC and don't like it, they offer a 30 day no quibble return. Over the summer, I managed to buy a 75ml supersize for £42 so they often have deals on it.

YSL all hours is a great one for building up. It's medium coverage. A tiny bit goes a long way as well!

I've been a EL wearer for years hut found recently it's making me look yellow. I did a load of research and went with NARS radiant longwear. It's really light but buildable, blends so so well I love it

asparalite · 28/11/2020 20:23

I'm a recent Nars convert too, am really delighted with Nars radiant, the colour is such a good match and really easy to apply.

I've gone for it cosmetics & also stocked up on another Chanel soliel tan because I'm forever using my mums when I visit!
Also tarte shape tape concealer. Should be here next week so fingers crossed it all looks good
