Clark's school shoes

I don't know if this is a daft question, but thought of checking. DS came home from school today, all the side of his shoe has peeled. It's not just scuff but the leather is peeling off. They are from Clark's but purchased through John Lewis back in July. But started using from September. I've contacted Clarks about the issue and they say I need to contact John Lewis as my sale contract is with them. But I thought this has to do with the product quality, or should I go back to JL?

I think it is John Lewis you would go to as this is where you brought them from.

You have to go through who you bought them from, they will then contact Clark's if they need to.
Clarks seem to be terrible quality now tbh, I'd recommend kickers.

You might find its considered damage.

Yy to kickers. Proper kick high or kick low. Clark's have never been a patch on kickers for quality

How do you care for them? What products are you using?

This happened to me last year. Dd has always had hamble oaks before but last year got a different style and they peeled. They were 'leather coated' apparently which obviously I hadn't known or I wouldn't have paid a million pounds for them! She's in secondary school so they aren't getting battered to bits at playtime either.

I took them back to clarks with the receipt and they gave me a new pair. F Hamble Oaks. She got Doctor Martens this year though!
