I'm thinking about getting these but wondering if it's worth it...

I've read that you shouldn't sleep on your side and its even better to wear glasses in bed to protect them- is this true??

If they're that fragile how do you go about taking make up off?

I've had them done twice and hated them, they fell out quickly and looked patchy and bad after a few days.
They were done at 2 different recommended places with great reviews. I think they maybe last better on some people than others.

I've had them several times before. The first couple of nights, I tried being careful, sleeping on my back, not squashing my face in to the pillow etc but it gets too much of a faff eventually and you just end up sleeping as normal. Mine always survived ok. All extensions do end up going a bit higgledy piggledy eventually though.

I've been getting these for years and I love them. I never had any problems and didn't have to wear glasses in bed!
The trick is to find someone good to put them on and you must get them maintained every 3 weeks.
Not all eyelash extension beauty therapists are equal! You may have to try a couple of not so good ones before you find a great one.
Try getting recommendations- maybe on local Facebook groups?

I’ve never worn glasses in bed or slept on my back etc. I get infills every 2-3 weeks and towards the end I definitely have fewer lashes on the side that I sleep on but they’re still fine.

I loveeee having tbem done but they're addictive and they do ruin your normal eyelashes! I wear an eye mask to sleep but I just brought one that kinda looks like fly eyes it's raised so the lashes don't touch it. When I didn't have that I just slept normally they're not that fragile at all. They say you can get them wet after 24 hours but I don't wet them at all unless they really need a wash. I do really like having them they transform my face. If you're a newbie I'd go for classics

I get Russians and don't get infills they last about 6/8 weeks then I'll go for a new set

This! They looked fab but were expensive and addictive. I stopped after a year and I feel freer now.

After microblading lash extensions are the next best thing to instantly improve your appearance. I loved them and never had any problems sleeping on my side. Sadly I developed a sensitivity to the glue and so now they are off the menu for me. I keep trying with strip lashes but they aren’t as good. 😕

I find them a bit of a hassle. They take ages to have done and they have to maintained almost daily. I cba with that at all. My first set were uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to get rid of them. Second set were fine but I didn't go back to get them in filled due to not wanting to carry on maintaining them!

For about half the price of one set, not including the eyelash shampoo or whatever it is, you can get magnetic lashes which can be reused many times. So in future, that's what I'm doing.

KaptainKaveman · 27/11/2020 08:24

I have recently discovered magnetics too, they are great!

TaraR2020 · 27/11/2020 13:52

Thanks for your replies :)

I'm a bit low maintenance and they do sound like a bit of faff, I'll do my research for a good beautician and might wait til I get a pay rise lol

Will definitely check out the magnetic ones though, I never had much luck with glue but I've been getting fed up with mascara lately!
