I am currently sporting what can only be described as a limp hair helmet and i need something quick and easy to style, that is young and natural looking. My hair is quite fine, but i've got lots of it and sits between my shoulders and chin with some layers and a blunt fringe that I have butchered myself. please help! i don't mind losing some length, but don't want it in a really short style as i look blokey

I am off to the hairdressers tomorrow for a 'Cameron Diaz in 'The Holiday' look. It sounds like a version of what you already have - longish bob, slightly longer section at the front, graduated side fringe. Bounces all over the place and looks groomed and gorgeous (at least it does on her!) I am not given to layers - they take an awful lot of maintenance and regular cutting. Highlights (T-Section if you don't want to go the whole hog) liven hair up a bit, too - but keep them fairly natural.

I will also treat myself to some GHDs, which are almost as good as a fresh haircut every time you use them.

You need layers.

They'll add volume to your hair and stop it looking like a limp helmet.

this could be a bit too short for your taste

somethinng similar to this? With or without a fringe

I have to admit, I always liked your hair like this

MamaG · 19/10/2007 11:16

(and yes to GHDs)

I got mine cut today. From a shoulder length straggly boring bob to a sort of pob. Shorter at the back, graduating down at the sides, some layers for volume and my growing out fringey thingy is graduated into the cut. Is all lovely and bouncy and swingy today. Won't be tomorrow!
