Men’s electric vs traditional wet shaving

Hi
Bit of an odd one here so bear with me!
My husband has very dry, sensitive skin on his face (managed with regular moisturising and steroids for flare ups). He also suffers from razor burn and ingrown hairs a fair bit. He currently wet shaves (about 2-3 times a week) and his skin gets worse when he has stubble, possibly because any creams can’t get down to the skin properly?
I’m wondering about investing in a dry electric shaver for him for Christmas with the thought that if shaving wasn’t such a faff he’s do it daily and his skin might be better in the long run! I’ve read that they reduce the risk of razor burn and ingrown hairs but might take a bit of time to get used to/get the technique right.
Anyone’s husband made the switch and had good/bad experiences??
I don’t want to get him one to be sat in the bathroom unused!

I sounds sensible as it will also help avoid the additional products that might also make his skin sensitive.
My husband switched from wet shave to a Philips one blade about a year ago and seems very happy. It isn’t a super close shave but I think that’s why it claims to reduce in grown hairs.

If wet shaving try a shaving gel rather than a shaving foam, such as Gillette for sensitive skin. After shaving, wet or dry, use a balm rather than an after shave. Nivea shaving balm for sensitive skin is good. Aftershave dries the skin out because of the alcohol content.

My DH likes to shave every (or nearly every) day and has been prone to shaving rash. He's tried various ways (at least two electric razors IIRC). I've asked him. He's switched to a traditional shaving brush and soap (which can be sensitive) and a decent 5 blade razor that he changes once a week. He says he avoids shaving rash by shaving twice, lightly. Once with the "grain" and second without.
