Help - super dry flaky skin

I really need help with my skin. I generally have dry flaky skin all over, but my face is just getting worse and worse. It tends to be red, tight, flaky, rough and feels really thin, like tissue paper. I have quite sensitive skin, so there are plenty of products that just make me itch, but I have tried so many things and nothing seems to work (and I now don't recall all the things I have tried). They either soak in, but then make no difference, or they sit on top like a layer of grease. What should I be looking for?

Forgot to say, at the moment I don't wear any makeup.

Have you tried the Eucerin 5% Urea?

I've never used it myself but know others with dry sore skin who swear by it.

Another good one is La Roche Posay cicaplast. I've been using that as my skin is dry, sore and sensitive from wearing masks.

Have a look at Eurcerin. Both me and my son have a condition that gives us super dry skin and this helps.

Can totally sympathise with not being able to eat make-up. Once our heating was turned on my skin had gone worse than ever Thanks

My skin just got really dry due to starting an immunosuppressant so I had to revamp my routine.

Recommend Cerave cream. I have heard Avene is good but not tried it.

I now use a cream cleanser in the morning, at night I oil cleanse and put a night cream on. Body Shop Oils of Life is good but might make skin tingle at first, my skin felt really hydrated in the morning. I also put Vitamin E oil on top at night. The other thing I started is facial exfoliation my epilator attachment morning and night, it helps to keep the flakiness away.

It might be worthwhile going to see your GP to determine the cause of the dry/flakiness. It may be that you have rosacea, or psoriasis, or any one of a hundred other skin conditions, all of which have different treatments.

My skin is very similar to yours, I use Aveno and that seems to work well.

I also get dry itch flaky skin/face nothing from the GP worked as I think they give a lot of steroid creams.

What did work for me was aveeno baby dermexa, normal adult aveeno dermexa and Cerave was really good too.

Second aveeno dermexa

I can recommend Epaderm cream, it's available in a large pump bottle for about £13 and it lasts ages.
It certainly calmed my Rosacea and I use it all the time and have done for quite a few years.

Thanks for all the comments. I never really felt it was worth a dr appointment, I've looked into skin conditions and I think I generally just have rubbish skin, not a specific problem. I've had allergy testing under a dermatologist consultant ( for a different issue) but no allergies of note. I have also tried epaderm before which didn't help me, it just felt greasy but not really soaking in.
Anyway, I have ordered a few things to try, including cerave, so fingers crossed something will help.
