Anything for wrinkles directly under eyes?

Hi everyone,

I've name changed.
When I smile I have lines under my eyes, I have crows feet too but I get Botox for those but the ones directly under my lower eyelid I'm not sure what to do about them?

I'm only 33 but look very old when I smile 😫 it's always been a problem area for me and I noticed fine lines and crows feet in my mid twenties.

Any suggestions? I know I should probably just love myself and accept them, but I'm not there just yet.

Please don't be toooooo harsh, I'm very sensitive!

Photo attached!

(I am smiling in the photo) even when I don't smile there are fine lines visible there.

Everyone has those lines when they smile though Smile

SugarCoatIt · 22/11/2020 15:14

Be honest OP, I think only you would notice them.

The only thing I notice about this photo, is your actual eyes, and they are beautiful, so I'd just keep making the most of them.

ToSmileOrNotToSmile · 22/11/2020 15:14

@Princessposie Do they? Maybe I need to look at people more 😅 I feel like mine look terrible and really age me.

@SugarCoatIt That's such a kind thing to say, thank you for saying that.

Streeeetch · 22/11/2020 21:30

I have just looked in the mirror and smiled. I have more lines than you and i'm younger and regularly ID'd. I think it's unreasonable to expect no wrinkles there past 25 at most.

Streeeetch · 22/11/2020 21:31

You're doing well if that's the worst you have!

BitchIAmFromChicago · 22/11/2020 21:32

Beauty Pie do a retinol eye cream which I’ve heard very good things about!

ToSmileOrNotToSmile · 22/11/2020 22:52

@Streeeetch it's not the worst I have! Unfortunately 😅

I'm probably just too self critical. Low self esteem and all that jazz!

Good to know I'm being unreasonable, I just don't see it in other people my age very often.

ToSmileOrNotToSmile · 22/11/2020 22:53

@BitchIAmFromChicago Thank you, I will take a look! I'm desperate :)

It’s on my wish list! Someone posted these results onto the Facebook group the other week. This was after 6 weeks usage.

Maybe I'm weird (I know) but I think they look nice. You look like you'd be a good laugh.

ToSmileOrNotToSmile · 22/11/2020 23:29

@BitchIAmFromChicago It doesn't look believable does it?! Probably worth a try though!

@JaneJeffer Your comment made me smile and laugh to myself! I can be quite fun actually, which is probably why I have them in the first place! 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

I thought botox caused these lines directly under the eyes, for me it's the tell tell sign of botox. I just presumed that the botox kind off pushed/inflated the skin causing the outer edges of the botoxed area to crease a little? My friend had botox and I guessed within an hour (after a long time of not seeing her) of meeting her due to these small wrinkles.

Notajogger · 23/11/2020 06:51

I thought everyone had them! I'm the same age op and I do and my skin is pretty good, line-wise I think. Surely if you smile, your cheeks go upwards and therefore the skin has to 'go' somewhere?!
I wouldn't have noticed them in your picture to be honest and therefore no chance of noticing them if it was your whole face!

TheVanguardSix · 23/11/2020 07:12

I used to get botox for my crow's feet once in a while in my 30s, OP, and I swear, it made me more 'liney' underneath. I learned to really embrace my crow's feet (not easy to do in your 30s, I know. I developed mine in my early 20s- I attribute this to my California lifestyle, where I grew up, and the idea of sunblock in the 70s and 80s meant 'baby oil from head to toe while frying on the beach'.

Back to you: Your 'wrinkles' are not wrinkles and take nothing away from your beautiful eyes. If anything, they are meant to be there. We all have them! And yours are so, so minuscule, yet they add warmth (don't underestimate the beauty of some lines around the eyes- I NEVER bought into this idea when I was your age, but at 48, and very much grown into my crow's feet, I miss seeing warmth in younger faces. Too much botox going on. So much of our beauty comes from our expressions).

You can use hydrating eye masks, eye compresses, drink more water/certain herbal teas that don't dehydrate, though you don't need to do any of this if I am honest.

A side note about crow's feet, mine haven't gotten any worse really over the years. So, that's a plus! The first thing I noticed though, looking at your eyes, is how youthful and taut the skin is. I have upper eyelid envy (it's a thing at my age! I miss a taut eyelid! Grin).
Don't go changing. You don't need to worry!

Agree it’s the Botox unfortunately. I have a friend who’s been having it for years. No crow’s feet at al but does have lots of lines under the eyes.

Despite this I still had my crow’s feet done a month ago. They look great but I’m seeing a few lines under the eyes that weren’t there.

The same thing happens with my forehead. I get my 11’s done and then there are more lines under the eyebrow as I can’t frown. These look worse and more ageing than the original frown lines .

I think I need to accept wrinkles look best where they are supposed to be. Pushing them in to an other area really isn’t a good idea.

ToSmileOrNotToSmile · 23/11/2020 13:42

@BusterGonad That's interesting! I've been having Botox for my crows feet since I was 29, and I haven't noticed this problem being as 'bad' before. It could be that it's time to quit it!

@Notajogger I think it looks worse if I was to show a pic of my whole face! I've gained some weight over lockdown so maybe the fat in my cheeks is pushing things up a bit more! I just can't win, when I lose weight and I'm 'happy' with my body, my face looks gaunt. And when i gain weight my face looks a little better but I have more lines under my eyes. Life!

@TheVanguardSix Thank you for being so kind.

It's interesting that quite a few people are saying that it's the Botox, I am a bit sad about this! I guess I will have to decide what bothers me more, the crows feet or these lines!

I wish that I didn't feel this pressure to be line free, or feel that lines are unattractive. I actually like them on other people! Maybe it will take time for me to accept them on myself, I hope to be like you :)

OP posts:
ToSmileOrNotToSmile · 23/11/2020 13:48

@Delatron Yes, I'm seeing this too. Random lines in places that do look odd.

Do you think you'd get Botox for the crows feet again or not?

OP posts:
BusterGonad · 23/11/2020 13:53

I'm no expert op, it's purely through observation, to me the original lines look far better than the ones botox creates but that coukd just be the way I see it.

Delatron · 23/11/2020 14:15

@ToSmileOrNotToSmile I don’t think I will to be honest. It’s the first time I’ve had the side of my eyes done and although you get a good result (I’m 44 and now have no crow’s feet), I’m worried about my under eye area and kind of miss my smile lines!

I think I’ll carry on with prescription strength Retin-A around the eyes (I can take this but you have to be very careful).

I’m going to look in to other things for the eye area. I’ve heard good things about Tixel. You’re younger though! I think if you maybe park the Botox for a bit and try a retinol eye cream?

Delatron · 23/11/2020 14:16

I think you’re right @BusterGonad from my observations too on friends that are now late 40s and have had years of Botox that crow’s feet lines are less ageing than the ones Botox creates under the eyes.
