i dont know what possessed me, i was ready for bed standing in front of the bathroom mirror thinking how shity my hair looks these days
i opened the cabinet and a pair of ds tiny nail scissors looked at me

now its too short and wonky and people at work keep looking at me funny. Any tips on how to cover up my mess!

a headband might be the thing, a material one, it can flatten it down. Or perhaps u could pop into a haridresser, who may be able to make to look less 'cut at home by you with ds's nail scissors '

Fimbo · 18/10/2007 13:33

Well you won't be doing that again will you .

Perhaps you need to go to a hairdresser and see if they can do anything with it. Or spike it up with some gel or wax

CatIsSleepy · 18/10/2007 13:34

balaclava?

lucykate · 18/10/2007 13:35

if your hair has a side parting, its fairly easy to just clip the fringe up and go fringeless, mines quite short and i sometimes clip it out the way. if you can do that, give it 2-3 weeks and it should have grown enough to to to a real hairdresser and have it straightened.

or just bite the bullet and go to the hairdressers and let them tidy it up for you.

welshmum · 18/10/2007 13:36

Well, fringes are in apparently so that's presumably of some limited comfort.
Are you of an 'edgy' persuasion? You could get a hairdresser to cut it into an obviously short fringe and make a statement with it??? (Key phrase there is 'get a hairdresser)

welshmum · 18/10/2007 13:37

You could couple this with a daring colour job and look potentially brilliant

TrickORTripletEm · 18/10/2007 13:38

Oh LittleMiss!! How awful, but yet funny.
The same thing happened to me,hairdresser was fully booked, couldn't wait and thought oh I know I'll do it myself, can't be that hard
Luckily it was winter time so I wore a hat!!

LittleMissVampireSlayer · 18/10/2007 13:39

fringes dont even suit me. i have a funny hairline.

A hairdresser will cut another fringe in that sits over the top of the diy job.

MrsBadger · 18/10/2007 13:43

push ti back under this or similar
very now

heifer · 18/10/2007 13:46

What you need is a double bagger..

Two paper bags.

1 for you

and one for the person who is with you at any given time, just in case yours should blow off as it will save the other person from immense embarrassment at being seen with you..

Beenleigh · 18/10/2007 13:49

Picture......please!!!
I love a quirky little fringe, but if this is not the look that you are going for, then it feel a little......eccentric!
Only choice is to go to the hairdressers, and ask for a fringe cut, around here they charge a fiver for that, and get them to straighten it for you. could look cool!

LittleMissVampireSlayer · 18/10/2007 13:49

i like that mrsB thanks!

its not that bad, a hairdresser could sort that out in a minute.

Oh, that's fine!! It won;t even be that short when straightened.
lol though, did you do it with your eyes closed with your non dominant hand?

Fimbo · 18/10/2007 14:03

Doesn't look that bad, tbh if I saw you in rl I wouldn't be staring at you thinking "oh she's chopped her hair herself". Go to a hairdresser, a quick trim and it will be fine.

LittleMissVampireSlayer · 18/10/2007 14:04

that is after half an hour of straightening it this morning! my hair has a natural kink so is difficult to control at the best of times...guess its of to the hair dressers for me!

OP posts:
heifer · 18/10/2007 14:13

don't bother with the hairdresser, just keep trying yourself until you get it straight and even..

You'll be fine honest

lucykate · 18/10/2007 16:18

now i've seen the pic in your profile, i think you'd suit something like this

southeastastra · 18/10/2007 16:21

haha go to the hairdressers! they'll sort it out quickly. i did that once, except i kept trying to get it right until i had about a 2cm fringe and looked mad

Sheherazadethegoat · 18/10/2007 16:23

i am sure you could sort it out yourself with the bread knife or something (sniggers).
