Black cross body bag budget £1000. Gucci Marmont?

I've got a budget of around £1000 and would love a black cross body bag for Christmas. I really like the Gucci Marmont bags in black leather however my friend has this in black velvet so I'm not sure if I should go for this. Any other suggestions? Thanks

I sold my disco a few yrs ago as I got annoyed that everyone has it or the fake version!

@trumpisaflump the disco is very versatile, I’m a bag fiend and have LVs and Mulberry but my favourite is my Chanel double flap with silver hardware

@Thischarmlessgirl that Chanel bag is a thing of beauty! I'm drooling over it. I really want a cross body bag I think though. Glad the disco gets your stamp of approval. That's the front runner just now.

warning about Mulberry bags: they tend to be pretty heavy as they have a lot of hardware on. I love the look of the Alexa but have stopped using mine because it’s very heavy.

Gucci bag looks cheap and tacky. Like it's been bought from a market stall for £10.

I love the YSL one, its beautiful! I have the disco one, its great but like a pp said, people do seem to think it's fake which can be slightly annoying. But, it wears really well and is lovely and spacious.

I honestly went of Gucci last year. Got a. Hat, bag , sliders and dh a hat and man bag, they all faded so quick as they were black and his sliders actually snapped !
I love the Gucci baby though they have the best blankets my ds3 loves his, my bag wasn't so bad but leather eventually started to go.

However iv just got 3 LV ones, dh got some trainers and somehow the lady talked him into getting me 3 bags?! They see him coming I'm sure of it. I Got the big bag everyone seems to have lately, a small cross body bag with 2 changeable straps like a sports strap ? and then a normal cross body bag but it has 3 bags on 1 chain? Dd took one for her "purse"!
They've been great though I love them. Leather is still perfect and I use them everyday
The big one is more of a nappy bag atm though haha x

Not a fan of the marmont at all, the discos are a lot nicer. I wear a Bree as my everyday, so it's not as though I'm put off by labels, I just don't think the Marmont is particularly nice.

The YSL bag is beautiful.

You mentioned you liked Chanel, if you upped your budget a tiny bit, you could get a WOC. So you get the classic Chanel styling but a lot cheaper and cross body. But I'm not sure how much they are nowadays with the constant price increases. I wear mine a lot for a "step up" cross body as opposed to every day.

@Nitflux yes I've got 3 Mulberry bags and rarely use them as they weighs ton!
@BillyAndTheSillies I looked at Chanel wallets on a chain but they are soooo expensive. Don't think I can justify it. I'm between the YSL and Disco at the moment. Both gorgeous.
