Is anyone planning on dressing up at Christmas regardless?

I love yoga pants and a top, at Christmas I go for comfort over style as I hate feeling trussed up. This year I feel like wearing something fabulous, no idea what, I'm no supermodel!

Anyone just think balls to it I'm getting my glad rags on?

@pipandmum - that's were we are at, not party clothes, but maybe "going for lunch in a nice restaurant" outfit.

LittleWingSoul · 17/11/2020 23:16

I wore a sequinned biba shaped mini dress last year, we didn't have guests until the evening but was dressed up all day!

This year I am wearing a Monsoon drop-waist wine red velvet dress I bought second hand, and opaque tights. Gotta mark the day!

Terralee · 18/11/2020 12:04

I've got an pretty ombré silver to black sequinned v neck mini dress from Monsoon that I bought in the sale 2 years ago - £29 down from £99!!

I wanted to wear it to the work Christmas party but obviously there won't be one so I'm planning to wear it on Christmas Day with black opaques & black heeled ankle boots - IF I can lose some lbs.
Wish me luck.

Yes! I am. I am definitely making an effort this year. Other years I have had family staying and spent most of the day in yoga pants and top whilst cooking and then changing perhaps into a nicer top and trousers for dinner. BUT this year I am planning on wearing a dress and opaque tights.

Someone linked to a tartan dress on here a couple of days ago which I quite liked. I'm also eyeing up a midi-shirt dress with shooting stars on it on the wolf and badger website. I am thinking of buying something new this year!

I love reading about all the plans everyone has to dress up a bit too

I think I'm going to go for a navy blue jumper dress with snowflakes that I've worn once with maybe some sparkly tights(?) then change later into a pair of nice wide leg trousers and a jumper that has sequins down the shoulders.

I will make an effort this year I don't care if it turns out to be just me dh and the cats!

I'm going to wear my burgundy velvet t shirt dress I had last year, bare legs and to top it off my elf slippers😆.Last year I wore my crushed velvet leggings with a tunic and these slippers and my then 2 year grandson says, on look granny's dressed like an elf.

Your dress sounds lovely! Where was it from?
YewandOak · 18/11/2020 14:04

Yes. In a new pair of pjs!
It's only ever me and my son anyway. Sometimes his dad comes round, but I'm not making an effort for him.

MrsKingfisher · 18/11/2020 17:22

@IlonaRN I bought it about 6 years ago! Think it was from next. I haven't seen anything like it since unfortunately.

@MrsKingfisher

What is everyone planning on wearing? *@JorisBonson* where did you get your sparkly tights from?
From Snag - black tights with black sparkles down the back!
Kenworthington · 18/11/2020 18:34

Deffo dressing up but to be fair I dress up Xmas day every year. This year heralds the wearing of a gigantic salmon pink taffeta frock I bought from H&M in the summer and still not worn. It’s like the 80s bridesmaid frock of dreams

MrsKingfisher · 18/11/2020 18:37

Thank you @JorisBonson

I will see how I feel on the day.

I may get done up or I may just get a Christmas jumper and leggings.

I wore a full tracksuit last year (it's my winter loungewear) and I was cosy all day and chilled.

Deathraystare · 19/11/2020 19:37

No. I used to when I went to mum's but both parents dead now. I shall be working so no chance of slobbing in pJs though! Just the usual leggings/jeans and t shirt or jumper (no ta Christmas one).

Lucked · 19/11/2020 19:52

We always dress up on Christmas, we open presents in our pyjamas and then get dressed. I think because both me and DH grew up going to church on Christmas Day pyjamas/loungewear just feel wrong even if we now go to a Virgil or (this year) watch on a webcam.I can’t imagine sitting down to a beautifully laid table in yoga pants!
