Beauty routine for 14 yr old daughter

What good products are available for teens starting a skin care regime? I recently bought her a micellear water but she said it was too oily and would prefer to have something that leaves her skin looking Matt rather than shiny. I don't know if they are meant to use acids now - to be honest I don't really know what an acid is, just here the term mentioned a lot.
She definitely wants to clean and moisturise. What else do you recommend and what with?

La Roche Posay Effaclar products are great for teen skin (and mine!)

Have a look at the Cerave range for cleanser and moisturisers.

I don't see why there's any issue with her starting to use acids now given they are naturally occurring.

What Micellar water did you buy that left her skin too oily.

My DD uses Garnier (pink top) or my Bioderma Micellar water, definitely no oiliness with either of them.

We all also use Cerave SA facewash.

HAd to name change as for some reason I couldn't log in to my account. The micellear water I got her was on discount and had good reviews and now that I am posting about it, I see it is oil-Infused (doh).
Does she just need cleanser and moisturiser or should I be getting toner too? I looked at the Trinny YouTube suggestions for teen skin but the products are very highly priced.

Cerave has been great for dd's sensitive skin.

At 14 she really doesn’t need many products on her skin and definitely no acids or anything like that! She probably just needs s gentle foaming cleanser and some sunscreen for her face in the summer.

Wen I was 14 I used Clearasil face wash in the shower then moisturiser for oily skin, it was by Clearasil as well I think.

I would now recommend using a moisturiser with spf in it.

When I was 19 I started to use Olay spf15 moisturiser & wore a night cream as well!
It did pay off because I get compliments on my skin now & im 44.

If I spent longer than an hour in the sun I would burn so in the summer I wore an actual facial sun lotion on days out.
Can't remember which one but now I use Boots No7 spf30 facial sun lotion.

A toner might be good after the face wash to remove all the last traces of makeup!
I like Simple soothing facial toner.

As DD is running out of micellar water I've just bought her a couple of Simple x little mix ones 400ml from Superdrug as they're half price. The garnier 400 ml one is buy one get one half price. We're happy with both.
I dont want her using up my more pricey Bioderma BlushGrin
Interestingly she told me not to get her any oily cleansers.

DD uses Superdrug Simply pure hydrating serum as her moisturiser

SaveMyGrass · 18/11/2020 14:24

My DD is similar age and uses this, it is very expensive but lasts a long time

La Roche Posay Effaclar face wash and duo moisturiser.

Newuser991 · 18/11/2020 16:02

Gosh I don't use half that stuff and I'm an adult!

She doesn't really need a routine at 14 and loads of products

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 18/11/2020 16:05

My daughter is 13, has a few spots and wears foundation to school. Just got make up remover wipes at the moment but not great for the environment. Was thinking of getting her Simple cleanser, toner and moisturiser so she can take her make up off properly.
