Rinse out hair colour, can you speed up the process?

I put this colour in my hair mid August and it is starting to grow out. I have about 2 cms of roots coming through and don't know what to do about it. It said on the packet, it lasts for about 48 rinses. Now I was on holiday, swimming in the pool and of course showering and washing my hair as usual since then but it hasn't faded and doesn't look like it's washing out. I'm sure it must be easily 48 washes by now.

Apart from washing and washing my hair, is there something else I can do to get rid of it faster? I don't want to use the same colour again but don't want to leave it like this with roots showing either.

i think you can get something to strip the colour out. (it's a semipermanent?) look at the range to see if there is one.

yes I was wondering about that but no it's supposed to be an intensive rinse which washes out. It isn't washing out though... Stripping doesn't sound too good for the hair though. Well just wondered if there was some natural remedy you could try mixing with shampoo that might speed it up IYSWIM. Seems there isn't though!

ok I just shampooed it twice and I will have to sit it out it seems. Won't be buying one of those again though.

my friend, a hairdresser, told me anti dandruff shampoo will strip colour out

if your hair is porous or dry or damaged, even a semi permanent will last a long while....

SSSandy2 · 17/10/2007 14:15

really? Anti-dandruff shampoo? Would never have thought of that. Actually noticed dd has dandruff so I'll give it a try. Thanks!
