Recommend an eyebrow pencil/ powder

Can anyone recommend the best thing for someone who has no clue how to actually do it, to use to fill in eyebrows, pencil or powder? And which one in terms of brand?
I don't want to spend too much as I usually leave my eyebrows to my wonderful angel beauty therapist who does my brows and nails every fortnight.

Would you consider microblading (obviously after lockdown). If you’re spending money every fortnight it probably won’t be any more expensive overall and will cut out lots of appointments

MaryBoBary · 11/11/2020 19:10

Sleek microfine eyebrow pencil, because it's so thin it looks very natural when you draw in hair strokes.

nancybotwinbloom · 11/11/2020 19:12

What look do you want op?

Bold or subdued?

Micro blading is quite bold in my opinion.

Powders are more subtle.

I like soap and glory archery pen.
Powder like pen but with a wet brush on the other end.

I get my nails and brows done at the same time so it's no extra. The lady did mention it briefly and we said we would discuss it when we had more time. But obviously I won't see her now until December (hopefully).
But I'm looking for something for now, while I can't see her. I usually don't touch them myself but will do my best. As I don't usually have to buy anything like that I'm not sure what would be best in terms of brand.

Ideally a more natural look. I don't wear any makeup so don't want anything too much.
Usually I get them waxed and she uses tweezers if necessary.
I'm just looking for something to fill in any gaps if I mess up my plucking

I have been using Elf WoW Brow Gel. Its in a tube like a mascara with a brush. its a gel with fine fibres in it and looks really natural. Better still it stays put. I already have black eyebrows and half expected to look like a mad panda after I had been in the rain and its fab. Easy to apply. And cheap.

Girlintheframe · 11/11/2020 20:47

I use this one www.boots.com/benefit/benefit-brows/benefit-ka-brow-mini-cream-gel-10253395
Boots sell both travel and full size. I bought the travel 1st to try. I only use it to fill in missing bits. I found this very easy to use and very natural

ohidoliketobe · 11/11/2020 20:50

I like Benefit Gimme Brow www.asos.com/benefit/benefit-gimme-brow/prd/9946197?browseCountry=GB&channelref=paid+search&affid=25031&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=CjwKCAiAtK79BRAIEiwA4OskBsiXi6j-_hDgB-KciaXk7iCbdiP8LC6W8t6p89-sV6JBxuatcmAXKxoCUg4QAvD_BwE
It's a brow gel, keeps them looking neat and adds a bit of colour to fill in any gaps. Doesn't look too strong like pencils can do, takes seconds to apply and lasts all day

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 11/11/2020 20:56

Benefit, any of their stuff for brows is fab! I lost my eyebrows when I went through chemo and the girls on the desk (pre COVID) showed me how to draw them on as such and They've always looked ok, I think anyway!

I also Elf wow gel but also a pencil/crayon thing from soap and glory - think it's called archery

TottiePlantagenet · 11/11/2020 21:24

Rimmel Wonderfull Brow, a mascara for brows. Really easy to use and gives a lovely natural look IMHO. Sali Hughes recommended it as an alternative to the Glossier Boy Brow (which I've not tried).

Otherwise Kiko have a cheap and cheerful eyebrow pencil with a spoolie on the other end, which is quite nice too.

Lalalabrador · 15/11/2020 08:29

Glossier boy brow is excellent

Tillytess · 15/11/2020 08:39

Ive used various brow products, some pretty expensive, Benefit, Anastasia etc. None of them are better than Maybelline Brow Satin, I use dark blonde.

Terralee · 15/11/2020 11:43

I like Clinique Superfine liner for brows in soft blonde

Marmaladegin · 15/11/2020 12:41

Urban decay brow blade. Ethical and excellent

LittleTreasure · 15/11/2020 12:56

I really recommend Eyelure Precision Brow Crayon. ( I get mine with my Ocado shop! £7.45). It's easy to use- i am rubbish with make up- looks natural and lasts well.

SueblueNZ · 17/11/2020 07:17

Like an earlier poster, I swear by Maybelline brow satin. I have very sparce brows with little on the ends. Dark blonde is a perfect colour for me.

IloveJudgeJudy · 17/11/2020 10:02

Benefit good proof eyebrow pencil is great if you're not used to doing your brows.

GreyishDays · 17/11/2020 10:04

I also use the Rommel one. Get a fairly pale colour and it’s subtle.

GreyishDays · 17/11/2020 10:04

Rimmel!

iwanttolookbetter · 17/11/2020 15:15

I use the little Rimmel compact with the two things to use with a brush - a darker thing that's a little wet then a powder. Love it and it's not expensive at all. For pencils I use brown eyeliner/khol pencil really lightly. I find eye pencils don't give enough pigment as I have quite thick, darkish brows anyway but if you have thinner brows this will maybe be too dark for you (although I'd say you can just apply with less pressure).

Hailingfrequenciesopen · 24/11/2020 16:27

I just had my eye brows tattooed with powder brows instead of microblading a few weeks ago. Now it's healed and I am waiting on my touch up in a few weeks I ordered the Benefit retractable brow pencil from Debenhams (after seeing a rec. on here) after googling for stockists the pack including a full size and mini one is better value on Debenham's website and free delivery if you are a Beauty Club member.

Anyway, it's fab and you can be subtle or really go for it and draw darker brows. I have dark brown hair and I chose the colour warm deep brown.
