Sturdy crossbody bag with a bit of space

Still at the carrying-random-crap toddler stage but past baby bag stage. I'm looking for a sturdy crossbody bag that can carry a bit more than my purse and phone.

The lining on my current very cheap one has torn and today I found a light bulb in there while searching for keys!

Budget up to £100 because I want it to last.

Kipling are great, lightweight, waterproof & last well.

Thank you! Will take a look

Oops, misread the thread title and thought you were looking for a sturdy crossbow bag! I was wondering if we were seeing a repeat of the infamous thread where an American stumbled on the preppers board (how to store three tonnes of lentils and a gallon of passata in preparation for a hard Brexit) and posted a thread with "What's your everyday carry?" (hers was a Glock, IIRC).

Anyway, as you were...

Alchemilla55 · 07/11/2020 15:06

Would this one work?

I haven't got a toddler but I find it big enough for random crap!

Thesheerrelief · 07/11/2020 15:11

@CaraDuneRedux that DOES sound useful Grin

FWIW I have a very old school leather handbag (M&S I think) which was bought to be big enough to accommodate wallet, paperback book, two glasses cases and an ipad mini. Similar size to this (though I like to think mine is more stylish):

Don't think it would fit a crossbow, but probably would fit a Glock. Grin

Depends how much toddler crap you need to carry? Are we talking couple of nappies and wet wipes too? If so you'd probably need something bigger.

Thesheerrelief · 07/11/2020 15:20

We're (just) past the nappy stage so it's usually a drink, small toy or two, wipes/tissues, hat etc.

Glock optional, depending on the day! I'm liking some of those Fatface bags

Mia Tui do good bags.

QueenGoblin · 07/11/2020 15:44

I have a backpack changing bag. It was a bit excessive for a lone toddler but it meant I just had everything in there. Wipes, toys, change of clothes, drink, snacks. It meant when we fit places I could shove his hat and coat in there too.

Now I've got another baby, I make my toddler carry his own drink and snacks in a mini backpack. He also likes to put his cars in there.

Maybe worth considering a toddler backpack and only a bit bigger handbag for yourself?

StanfordPines · 07/11/2020 15:46

Another Mia Tui fan here. I use then for work bags and they last well for the price.
Lots of useful pockets.

I like Yoshi crossbody bags? Fun designs, beautiful lightweight leather and inexpensive.

These look great and could work well for me as a swim bag (when the pool eventually opens again). Thanks for the link.

Thank you! Lots of options there
