Glasses for the small of face

liky · 06/11/2020 14:25

I have to wear glasses all the time (short sighted) and like to dress like an architect - eg my style is more Cos than D&G.

I struggle to find stylish glasses as my face is very small and most glasses look too big on me.
I like the style of Ace&Tate and they do have some small frames, but they are still a bit too big for me.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Hello, I have similar issues. They do have a “teen” section in Specsavers and so I assume other opticians? Choose some from there and they will be slightly smaller! X

Hi, I chose glasses from the Kylie range in specsavers. I'm not sure if they're you're style but I have a smaller face and the lady who helped me choose said they were more petite. I'm really pleased with them and they fit me better than any others I've had. Might be worth a look at the range.

  • your style!

I've had glasses from spec savers in the past and I was disappointed with the quality and they felt cheap (they weren't particularly cheap!) but I guess each brand is different?

I have this problem and bought some ones from the Boots teenage range, they seem good quality and have lasted for years (probably do need to be replaced now though!)

Oblomov20 · 06/11/2020 14:44

I have this problem and struggle to find petite glasses. I have found quite a few pairs of Guess that are good.

Bluejewel · 06/11/2020 14:47

I was going to suggest you look at Boots kids range - I see others have got there before me though

Chrestomanci3 · 06/11/2020 20:18

Specsavers general ones are much too wide on me. I buy my frames from a local optician, who recommended various Scandinavian brands, as apparently they come up narrower. Am currently wearing prodesign Denmark.

CardiCorgi · 06/11/2020 20:24

I have glasses from a brand called colibris which as supposedly for small faces.

peachypetite · 06/11/2020 20:25

I recently got some karen millen from spec savers - the assistant was really helpful and I didn’t need to resort to the kids’ range.

CardiCorgi · 06/11/2020 20:26

That should say “are”, and I have checked, they are a German brand, so I am not sure how widely available they are.

BobBobBobbing · 06/11/2020 20:27

Following as I have to wear kid's glasses.

Last time the lady in the opticians confidently told me that their petite range would have something for me when I explained the problem. I tried loads on and she just shook her head and went "the kid's range is over here.. "

Ds2 just had to get new glasses and their kid's range had a good selection that weren't covered in cartoon logos so I might head to Vision Express for my next pair.

DuckonaBike · 06/11/2020 20:29

I also have kids’ glasses from Boots - have had Guess ones in the past; current ones are Ted Baker.

DeathMetalMum · 06/11/2020 20:30

I go for the teen range mostly. I have had some Kath Kidston from adults range but mostly they are all far too big. I use specsavers as they do an offer and I can get some sunglasses half price.

Knittedfairies · 06/11/2020 20:31

I have this problem. My optician recommended Wolf glasses. I've just looked at the website and see that the size of the frame is listed.

I have the same issue . Find my local opticians really helpful. In the past I’ve had teen ray-bans and the current ones I am wearing are Tom Ford.

june2007 · 06/11/2020 20:40

Look in the kids section.

peakotter · 06/11/2020 20:40

I’ve had success in the past (not so much recently) with glasses direct. You can put your frame size into their search tool and it will suggest similar sized frames. But fashions change so there’s nothing I like there anymore. The calculator was really useful for saving time though.

polexiaaphrodesia · 06/11/2020 21:04

I have the same issue and a very nice independent optician took one look at me and recommended an Oliver Peoples frame called Riley.

Hopefully the link works!

The other thing I've found is that you need to look for the measurements on the glasses frame if you're looking online. The glasses I've just linked have measurements of 45.20.145 with the 145 being the width (give it a Google as I'm sure there are better explanations) so you want to be looking at frames with a width of 145 or less.

cameocat · 06/11/2020 21:19

Are you me OP?

I only used to find glasses in the children section but years ago that tended to mean Mickey Mouse or something similar on the side. I also don't go to places like spec savers. My local independent optician has an awesome range of children and teen frames. My current ones are Ted Baker which are great.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/11/2020 21:39

I bought Karen millen too, they used to cut on the small side in clothes 20 years ago.
