Lovely but effective and reasonable priced hand cream

I’ve just had a manicure today as my cuticles were a mess and thought it would cheer me up for the start of lockdown. Makes it easier for me to paint my own nails over next couple of weeks, as I will now continue to use cuticle oil now they’re in a reasonable state.

I’d like to buy myself a nice ice cream. Something that is actually good for dry hand but is a bit of a treat and doesn’t leave hands feeling greasy. Something that feels nice, smells nice but not too strong.

Any suggestions please?

When I say reasonable priced I’m happy to pay up to about £15 if it’s something nice

Neom's calming hand balm is absolutely lovely- a definite treat! www.marksandspencer.com/calming-hand-balm-30ml/p/hbp60467536

I love Weleda hand food, its quite heavy and a little greasy initially but sinks in after a minute or 2 and has really good staying power with frequent hand washing. Smells amazing which makes it a pleasure to use and at about a tenner , won't break the bank

Thanks both. I’ll take a look at these.

I’ve tried dozens of hand creams and the only thing that truly cures dry hands for me and is non greasy is Liz Earle hand repair. A bit over your budget but a little goes a long way

I love Crabtree and Evelyn La Source - it smells amazing and really helps my dry knuckles.

I always like Rituals - different ranges depending on the type of smell you like

This is absolutely lovely. They used to sell it in Tesco but haven't seen it for a while

I love the Clarins one in the red tube. I think it's about that price but apologies if I'm wrong.

notanotherlasagne · 04/11/2020 18:48

The White Company Seychelles and Aveda Hand Relief are both lovely

Wellhellyeah · 04/11/2020 18:50

I'm a Dr and use O'Keefe's Working Hands in the green tube. Not fancy but effective and under a tenner.

PeppaPigMakesMeGrrrrr · 04/11/2020 18:53

Another vote for Liz Earle. Keeps my hands soft and lovely even after all the alcohol gel I use all day at work!

crosshatching · 04/11/2020 21:21

The l'occitaine Almond hand cream is only a bit above your budget but a little goes a really long way and it's gorgeous.

bluebeck · 04/11/2020 21:37

I have tried everything and the best medium price hand cream is Neals Yard Bee Lovely.

Currently on sale at Look Fantastic - £8 for 50ml.

Smells like heaven, so moisturising but non greasy.

madeleinetheragdoll · 04/11/2020 22:55

Nursem is lovely. Really impressed!

drigon · 04/11/2020 23:38

I found Body Shop Almond milk and Honey (I think that's what it's called) excellent and it has a lovely smell.

I love the solid hand cream bars from the Edinburgh Skincare company.
They fixed my cracking hands in a day!

The soap and glory sugar crush hand food is nice and v cheap

Or you could go for the lano hand cream intense for a slightly more premium option

ZaraW · 05/11/2020 06:12

Second O'Keefe's. Gives the best results.

weleda skin food works wonders, but very greasy. I put it on at night in the winter. I cycle a lot and the cold really affects my skin (even though I wearing gloves).
during day time I use palmers cocoa butter as it sinks in quickly and doesn't smell of 'handcream'.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 05/11/2020 09:18

L'Occitane & Elemis hand creams are lovely, they're really rich & but sink in quickly & the fragrances are divine.
I have a number of mini ones on the go at the moment in bags, bedside chest of drawers etc.
I also have a pump action bottle of a Molton Brown hand cream in the living room & big tube of Mane n Tail hand cream in the kitchen.
All the hand creams mentioned are brilliant for cuticles & stronger nails.

I also have these from Lakeland
www.lakeland.co.uk/21179/Medium-Deluxe-Moisturising-Washing-Up-Gloves
for the odd bit of washing up that can't go in the dishwasher.
They're also really good for opening riveted jar screw tops & getting nearly stuck corks out of Champagne/Prosecco/Cava bottles.

TheLightGetsIn · 05/11/2020 14:07

Crabtree and Evelyn ones are lovely and not greasy. Have to say though that the most effective is still Neutrogena Norwegian formula.

IOwnDogsNotFrogs · 05/11/2020 14:12

L’Occitane Almond is really nice and the Milton Brown ones are too. Might give Liz Earle a go after the recommendations here.

IOwnDogsNotFrogs · 05/11/2020 14:12
