I’m looking for some gloves that fit this criteria

  1. warm
  2. not mittens
  3. not leather
  4. sleek (not puffy ski type)
  5. almost child size, I have small hands and short fingers Blush

You have to buy children's gloves from somewhere like Next or M&S or John Lewis.

Ive had to do that in the past. Works out well as they're a lot cheaper!

massistar · 26/11/2020 17:39

I have these which are super warm if not terribly stylish.

Normal wool type gloves are not warm enough for me unfortunately

How do you feel about fleece? I steal the fleece ones I got the DC from Gap Kids. The largest size is a bit small really.

Paddingtonthebear · 26/11/2020 17:43

I’ll have a look!

These @Paddingtonthebear

Paddingtonthebear · 26/11/2020 18:26

Thanks they look good. I might get those and some wrist warmers from Turtle Doves too

The turtledoves wristwarmers are great too,

FairfaxAikman · 26/11/2020 19:11

I know you said no mitts, @Paddingtonthebear but they will always be warmer than gloves with fingers.
Warmest ones I've ever had have been sheepskin. Would you consider ones like these, where the finger bit folds over and there's a slit in the thumb so you can use a smartphone?

If not, then this brand do gloves with fingers too.

Thanks will take a look!

Sheepskin/Leather/suede gloves with fleece or fluffy lining are the absolute bees knees for warmth.

Is your no leather request due to veganism or similar, or just aesthetic? I'm sure you could get fake leather and it would work.

I have these. They last years.

Sealskinz? Mine are super warm. Waterproof too so feel warmer. They have small and extra small sizes, and fit/measuring guide.
Nb not actually seal, and most I think aren't any sort of skin. Certainly mine aren't.

Bamaluz · 26/11/2020 20:40

A pair of silk liners from a cycle shop makes any gloves a lot warmer.

TheSpottedZebra · 26/11/2020 20:49

Oh yes, I also have silk liners! I am a glove aficionado!
They really work, but are easily split by a long nail.

40weekswithno2 · 26/11/2020 21:51

Magic gloves. You know, the little black ones you buy in newsagents etc?

cujo · 26/11/2020 23:40

Next do a thinsulate kids glove which is super warm and also v cheap
Code is 868-319

Otherwise sealskinz are great

NotMeNoNo · 27/11/2020 10:33

Try an outdoor shop, Outdoor Research are a good brand widely available.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/11/2020 18:07

I wear Uniqlo kids gloves. They even have the smartphone finger thingy so you don’t have to take them off

Muddybuddy · 27/11/2020 19:53

I’ve got v small hands and got some great gloves from tkmaxx before lockdown

2021optimist · 27/11/2020 19:56

Dents in size small are surprisingly warm (v soft leather). They'd be super cosy with a silk liner too.
