Do these work to keep hair un-bedheaded?

Can anyone recommend a quality one?

Many thanks

Have you seen the other thread running about the damaged hair? At least one was recommended on there.

nevertrustaherdofcows · 31/10/2020 13:44

Thanks Ground, have had a look. They were recommended 5 times in genera - which is encouraging - but no specific brand

Oh I thought someone said “Silke”. Maybe I’m muddling things up.

Have a bump anyway. Smile

fitzbilly · 31/10/2020 13:48

I don't think the brand matters, they just need to be silk.

Audreyseyebrows · 31/10/2020 13:49

I looked at these but went for a bonnet instead. Not received yet and slightly nervous about having a sweaty head.

nevertrustaherdofcows · 31/10/2020 13:56

Silke do turbans and hair ties. I'm not sure I could carry off the turban!

I've gone for John Lewis - 20% off at the moment

Silk is breathable so you should be okay.

I don’t think I’m going to carry it off either but I’ve given up trying to look nice Grin

@GroundAlmonds ahh ok, that’s good to know!

AintPageantMaterial · 31/10/2020 16:16

Gingerlily are very good.
My John Lewis one literally fell apart at the seams but I had been using biological washing powder and throwing it in a normal wash. I’m glad to treat the replacement more kindly.

Jessica Russell Flint does lovely ones and you can get a discount my signing up to her mailing list

BoreOfWhabylon · 31/10/2020 16:52

I get mine from Soak and Sleep. Good quality and last well, as long as washed with care (non-bio).

And yes, they work.

Greenteandchives · 31/10/2020 16:55

Mine are Jasmine Silk. £23 and not only solve bed hair, but those awful creases you wake up with in your face when you are old.

Oxyiz · 31/10/2020 16:58

My John Lewis ones have lasted for years - I wash them with other sheets etc but put them in a mesh bag to stop them getting ripped or something.

About to get some more now you've mentioned the discount Smile

dudsville · 31/10/2020 17:12

I opted for the turban as I didn't like the thought of silk against my face. Hair head been greatly helped by it but I only wear it the first two nights after a hair wash.

throwaway100000 · 31/10/2020 17:19

I have a Slip silk pillowcase.

For £85 I’m not sure how I feel about it. It is beautifully soft and leaves my hair in much better condition in the morning (compared to a satin Amazon pillowcase). But... I wash my bedding once a week, and I am scared about how quickly it may deteriorate so feel a bit hesitant to use it. You know when something is that expensive that you just want to keep it pristine or for special occasions?? Well, that’s how I feel as I’m not willing to spend £85 to replace it any time soon!

Bubble5123 · 31/10/2020 18:23

I have this one www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-the-ultimate-collection-silk-standard-pillowcase/ivory/p1537491 (there is 20% off at the moment.

I have used it for a few years and love it. It makes a big difference to my hair in particular, it really reduces frizz. It is also much cooler to sleep on that a normal pillow case. They aren't the cheapest purchase in the world but worth the money for me. I have had mine for several years now and they are still going strong too.

applepineapple · 31/10/2020 18:25

I use one from Slip. Also love their hair bands and scrunchies too. Expensive but definitely worth it for me.

MonkeyBidness · 31/10/2020 19:00

I used to use just silk pillowcases and now I have a turban thing which is not sexy.... but I think my hair looks less slept in If I wash it the night before - This Is Silk is the brand - doesn’t leave an elastic line indentation across my forehead and doesn’t slide off. I also use it for long haul travel overnight.

Actually the best thing they do is the silk face masks. Long train journeys are a LOT better with the lightness of a silk mask.

EatPrayYoga · 31/10/2020 19:49

I have a satin ones and it definitely helps but I am considering getting silk

I wouldn't worry if you've ordered from JL as their customer service is excellent (in case you do have problems with what you've ordered)

Ohee · 31/10/2020 21:46

I have a silk pillowcase but didn’t look after it very well so it’s lost its shine and has ripped. It didn’t really help my dreadful bed head so, b4 buying another, better quality silk one I bought a cheap satin one. Because it’s so shiny it seems to help. My hair is still mad in the morning but not as mad as it would have been
