Anyone had composite bonding done to get whiter teeth?

And if so how much did it cost and what did you make of the results? And why do they whiten the teeth then apply the bonds? Surely the bonds go over the discoloured teeth to do the whitening or are they slightly transparent? In which case if your teeth won't whiten that well (the reason I'm looking into other options), will you get a poor result?

You may be right. They look horrific though. Gives the whole idea a bad name, in my opinion (although I would like mine to go a little whiter but way too scared now).

Any reason you wouldn't go back to Michael Tang if he did a good rescue job Househunter? And why Westerwood?

@iwanttolookbetter purely because I think Westerwood have upped the composite game slightly with making your smile “Hollywood” without the price tag or pain of filing down etc. I haven’t seen any of Michael’s work recently and though I was happy with the outcome, I think they’ve worn down faster than they should have. I don’t know if Westerwood will be better but that’s the chance you take.

I'm getting bonding soon actually, haven't had it yet, but as far as I'm aware there's no drilling at all. It's just painted on the top and they lightly roughen the surface (they do this for braces too though didn't make my teeth weird when they removed them).

They whiten the teeth so that they all match - you don't usually get more than the top 6 or 8 and bottom 6/8 so all the ones behind that would be a different colour. And because the material doesn't whiten so if you wanted it later your other teeth wouldn't match the composite.

I'm having mine done on Harley Street for £1500 for top eight teeth because my top teeth have worn down and become chipped due to bruxism.

Interesting they do that for braces - I had braces as a child and don't remember anything much about them but they certainly didn't look in any way damaged when they come off so that's encouraging!

Can I ask who you're seeing in Harley Street Coriander and how you chose them? Are you getting it for whitening as well as for the wear anc chipping?

The whitening was a bonus point, it was mostly the chipping. I'm doing the home whitening with a mould which they supplied along with the peroxide. I read that this whitening lasts longer than Zoom instant.

When they're as white as I like I'll book in for my bonding appointment. I'm going to Harley Street Dental Experts, but I'm not sure I'd recommend as their communication has left something to be desired. However if the end result is good then I'm sure I won't mind (it may just be because of Covid messing things up).

They have an Instagram with before and after a which I liked.
