Terrible Skin!

Gah I'm sick of it! Any ideas before I resort to just a full face peel?

  • teenage acne scars
  • huge pores from years of nose strips etc, random enlarged pores on cheeks
  • general greasiness not confined to T zone
  • patches of rosacea on my cheeks
  • the odd beast spot before my period

Tried sacylic acid (scrubs, 30% applied by a beautician), most over the counter skin clearing cleansers, creams, scrubs etc, use an anti rosacea cream daily, just wash with plain soap then moisturise daily. I don't wear make up so it's really getting me down! Been trying 10 years to undo the damage and now I'm starting to age it's just getting worse...

Anyone any ideas? Or can recommend or offer experiences of a more drastic treatment?

I'm really no expert but I think in your shoes I'd just pay to see a dermatologist and see what they can do. I'd be skeptical how much over the counter or beauty salons can do... And all the money spent on that would be better seeing a Dr. It must be awful 💐

@doadeer You are most likely right, I must have spent thousands over the years on crap that hasn't really worked. A dermatologist I presume could treat the multiple issues at once and look at the full picture. So depressing!

Yes I think so - also as a doctor they will consider what you can take medically that will help, not just focus on topical which a beauty salon would.

What better to invest in than your own face! There was a series on BBC recently called skin - check it out, dermatologists dealing with skin issues.
