Best budget makeup

Morning, sorry if this has been done to death but I didn't find anything recent in a search. Most of my makeup seems to be running out at the same time, so I'm going to have a bit of an overhaul. I need a new foundation, powder, bronzer and maybe some new eyeshadows & lipsticks. My budget right now is very tight, so any recommendations for good high St budget brands would be appreciated. I'm currently using No7 foundation and a Beauty Pie pallet, so around that price range or less.

The Primark mascaras are good.

So I went to Superdrug today, got Revolution Pro translucent pressed powder, hydrate foundation, brow pencil and concealer. I've just tried the powder and it's horrific! It's pure white, not translucent at all and no matter how delicately I try to dab the pad so much comes off. It's literally like clownake up. Just checked reviews online and they all say the same. Was about to try the foundation, took the lid off and the product is all smeared around the pump, so it's been used. I'm not even going to bother trying the brow pencil or concealer and will see if I can return any of it. It wasn't even like it was that cheap, came to about £26. Think I'll just stick to No.7Sad

Oh dear OP - hope they will let you return some.

NYX brow pencil is good, recommended on here.
I also recently tried the Max Factor Facefinity concealer and was quite impressed (I usually use MAC).

No 7 Stay Perfect Mascara was recommended on here and I don’t like it, partly as it’s waterproof and I don’t like that (my fault for not checking) but also I found it doesn’t really thicken at the base of the lashes and the brush is an odd shape, the fibres seem too short. Maybelline mascara gets recommended a lot but I just hate the awful bulky packaging.

Also, with testers not being available right now, how do you know which colour to go for with foundation etc?

Poundland black liquid eyeliner is really good. I have used more expensive liquid eyeliners, but this is much better (in my opinion).

Catrice name l polish is very good.
Essence mascara.
W7 did a brilliant dupe for the very expensive Chanel cream bronzer.
I think somebody in W7 then made a really stupid decision to discontinue it instead of promoting it. AngrySad

Catrice nail polish

Use findation.com to find your foundation shades.
I've bought tons from Revolution online and always been pleased with it - you do need to read the reviews tho before you buy as every brand has duff products (including the high end ones).

Maybelline Matte Maker powder is very good - I've struggled since MAC discontinued their select sheer pressed powder to find one with the right depth of colour -so many high street powders are too light and flat looking, but this one is the best I've found.

Collection concealer is very good, and I've just tried their Lasting Perfection foundation (£6.50) and am really impressed with it.

Rimmel brow pencils are excellent and nice and ashy rather than too warm.

Primark has always done me well for lipsticks, lipglosses and bronzers ( though they do run to quite warm IMO)

Mascaras - never found a high street one as good as Lancôme Hypnose and I waste more money trying shite brands than I would if I just bought Hypnose in the first place, so now I wait for their promotions ( often around Christmas).
