I bought a black cardie to go with a black skirt for a funeral last week and they didn't go together at all as they were different shades.

BTW - sorry you are having to go to a funeral, hope it goes as well as possible.

it is the first funeral I have been to and have to go alone as no-one to watch the children - dreading it, actually.

Just make sure you are next to someone you know - and preferably like.
No-one likes funerals but they are a necessary evil. My philosophy is cry all you want - that is what you are there for!
