Work out leggings and knickers

Which brand is the best to wear without too much of an ugly vpn?

I’m not a thong wearer but would prefer that over no knickers. A friend doesn’t wear any pants to the gym except when she’s on her period....nope I cannot do that!

I tend to wear boy shorts but I know a number of my friends go commando at the gym.

Jumbojem · 29/10/2020 13:09

I wear decathlon breathable briefs under thin leggings. My thicker ones (sweaty Betty or winter weight running ones) I wear nothing but that's for running where chaffing can be an issue.
The decathlon ones are cheap, lightweight and very comfy, lots of colours

I wear thick / non see through leggings, but as most of what I do is pilates, I have a few pairs of super big knickers for just this, as there's lots of bending and bums in air etc. Also teeshirt covers most of bum, but that's more so I don't flash my midriff.

Everyone's in the same boat, so try not to be so self conscious that you don't enjoy yourself (if that's possible at the gym!).

Boux Avenue bonded shorts. I have the M&S no VPL ones but I find that they always roll up along the seam which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the no VPL bit Angry

Stumpedasatree · 29/10/2020 13:25

Same as @Jumbojem, the Decathlon ones she has linked to are fantastic and incredibly comfy. I wear them under tights for running.

MilkshakeandFries · 29/10/2020 14:06

You want some Ultracor leggings. Built in knickers. Job done.

Exerbeg · 31/10/2020 06:29

Depends on the leggings and what activity i an doing. Runderwear are great but are expensive.

homemadecommunistrussia · 31/10/2020 07:35

I have reebok pants, which I bought from tk maxx, nice and comfy don't roll down.

Please don’t feel self conscious! I like smooth anti VPL pants, best, but tbh have given up worrying. I have some fab ones from Primark. With leggings it really depends on what you need them to do, sometimes spending some money is worth it, draw string waists, better stretch for curves, thick enough to cover doesn’t have to mean heavy and sweaty. So it is worth taking time and getting some you feel secure and good in. Really makes a difference. Good luckSmile

VPL > VP (and no, the second P doesn’t mean “pantie”...)

I do sweaty Betty leggings and big M&S cotton pants (cover the whole bum cheek so the line doesn’t cut across)

mel8101 · 07/11/2020 11:41

Normally go Commando. If you have decent leggings with a gusset and flat seams there is no need to wear knickers underneath.

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 07/11/2020 13:11

I’m a big fan of Sloggi pants. Quality is really good

Dozer · 07/11/2020 13:15

I always just have VPL.

V hard to find cotton ‘no VPL’ briefs and don’t want to wear synthetic knickers to work out.

Thongs while working out don’t sound comfortable!

Dozer · 07/11/2020 13:17

Don’t want to go commando for same reason - gym leggings all synthetic.

IrkedEssex · 07/11/2020 14:32

Sloggi Zero ranges are great for under leggings.

ChameleonCircuit · 07/11/2020 15:03

M and S knickers and Sturdy by Design leggings here. No view of undies, even when squatting. And boy are they comfortable.

mel8101 · 09/11/2020 11:19

As other have said its all down to personal preference and what you feel most comfortable wearing
