Dyson - hair dryer / air wrap - questions for users!

Am pretty sure by the noise my babyliss heated brush made yesterday that it's officially dead. Am now finding myself considering either the Dyson air wrap or hairdryer; which is very ironic as I laughed when I first heard the price, couldn't compute ever wanting to spend that amount on hair styling and I have no problems spending money normally :)
My main motivation is hair health and drying time. My hair is long; highlighted, fine but lots of it; I wash it every day. I'm not fussed too much about the curling/ wave side (I would use them but not deal breakers) but would like a smooth blow dry.
If you have one, what's your experience? Is it quicker? Does your hair feel in better condition/ smoother?
If you have the air wrap is the drying tool strong enough to blow dry alone.
If you have the dryer; is it a smooth enough finish to not use any other heat styling on?
Thanks in advance!

My hair is similar sounding texture to yours, though shoulder length. The air wrap dries it very quickly. I often use the dryer attachment to blast it first, then finish with the smoothing brush. It’s much much better than using a dryer and separate brush. I hardly ever just use the dryer part: the brushes are so quick and easy. The curling things are also good for making waves, but I can hardly ever be bothered. If I ever go to a party again I’m might use them!! I’m very pleased with it.

Thank you @Annebronte that's really helpful. How long does it take to style your hair? Do you think less intense heat styling has improved the health of your hair?

I have the air wrap not the hair dryer and the dryer attachment is fine for drying your hair.

I always get compliments about how shiny my hair is when I use mine. It's def worth the investment.

The hairdryer is an excellent investment, I have long thick wavy hair and I achieve a smooth enough blow out with a large radial brush not to have to use my straighteners. This has improved my hair health. The hairdryer itself drys in the time as my GHD air, perhaps slightly quicker, doesn’t get as hot but is easier to hold / lighter and a more balanced shape, does not weigh your arms down. Overall I would have one again, the only thing I would improve is the heat, it doesn’t get as hot as I would like but that almost certainly contributes to the fact that my hair is much healthier After a year of use.

The air wrap is amazing!!

I have incredibly thick hair which is just below shoulder length and I can get a smooth blow dry in probably just over ten minutes. I blast it with the hair dryer bit first then section it and dry it with the round brush and it's lovely.

I do have a problem with frizz though so when I use the brush I do run my straighteners over the top section otherwise it frizzes within an hour. But I'm talking a 60 second go over with the straighteners nothing more.

I know you said you're not bothered by the curling attachments but oh my god they are amazing and the real reason I love the air wrap is the curling attachments.

my hairdresser uses one on my thin and fine hair. i'm not convinced as it dries my hair so quickly there isn't enough time to add body!

Thanks everyone for your comments.
I've caved and bought the air wrap complete from boots, £70 of advantage card points available if purchased today so made a snap decision.
I'm keeping fingers crossed it's worth it!
