Reusable make up remover pads

Hi

Can anyone recommend a brand to try. I've had a look online but none seem to "jump out" as highly rated. I'm looking for a gentle one for eye make up removal and perhaps a gentle exfoliating one for the face. Any recommendations?

I don’t wear a lot of make up but these take off my makeup well with just water. They’re small and a stretchy material, textured on one side.

Greenzla Reusable Makeup Remover Pads are lovely

Another vote for reusable baby wipes. These are double sided - one with a slightly rougher texture for exfoliation and the other is very soft for my eye area.

It’s not what you’re asking for but the best gentle thing that removes my makeup is Slai Butter cleanser by drunk elephant - massage it in dry and rinse off. Fab.

Grace & Luke is a lovely small company using organic fabrics, make up removers are lovely to use, then pop them into a net bag (she sells these too), & into the machine.

Becky the maker will go out of her way to adapt for customers. If you do a search on fb under Grace & Luke, you can find all the details.

I’ve used my old reusable breast pads, through I have not tried them for using a liquid eye makeup remover. I suspect the pad would absorb the liquid but the pads worked well for other creamy cleansers.

I saw these in Superdrug yesterday.

I use facehalo with just water to get off the majority of make up.
Then I use bamboo pads with make up remover to get off mascara/any remnants. I got the bamboo pads from Etsy - there’s loads of good ones on there.

After use I wash them with hand soap, put them in the net bag the bamboo pads came in.. then when it’s full I machine wash.

I just got any old pads from amazon. I think some are bamboo, some are cotton. They are a bit stained but still going strong after a long time. I just hung them in with my bedsheets to wash each week.

For exfoliation try a linen cloth.

Standandwait · 18/10/2020 12:50

I use some micro fleece ones (micro fleece like what baby blankets are sometimes made of) from Etsy, in a dark blue to minimise stains. And yes, wash in a little net bag so they don't cling to all my clothes after!

Thecobwebsarewinning · 18/10/2020 16:58

I use these bamboo ones. They are cheap and soft. I’ve been using them for over a year now and they wash really well. Even lipstick and mascara stains wash off and leave them looking like new.

I also have some bamboo ones I bought on Amazon, very cheaply (I can't find the exact ones but there are loads on there). They are super-soft, pick up makeup really well, and come with a net bag so they don't get lost in the washing machine.

Moominmammaatsea · 19/10/2020 18:41

I bought several packs of these for £4.99 in TK Maxx. Would definitely recommend.

The ones in Aldi middle aisle sometimes are really good. Wish I'd thought to keep breast pads though!

SundayReilly · 19/10/2020 19:20

Bamboo one from Amazon
Brill
Use my micellar water takes about 5 to remove make up
Then I use a balm cleanser with a large flannel.
Saving me a fortune
I was spending bout £12 a month on cotton wool.
Nice exfoliating effect too.

mommybear1 · 20/10/2020 20:09

These are great thank you all @SundayReilly can I ask which balm you use that you find good for exfoliating please?

OP posts:
SundayReilly · 20/10/2020 20:19

I use Clinique Take off the day.
It's not so much the balm but the flannel which cleans and exfoliates but gently.

McQuilliam · 20/10/2020 20:54

Oil/balm cleanser and a flannel for me too. My face feels cleaner without being stripped.
