I need a fantastic mascara! Have you got one you can recommend?

I'm after a mascara that won't make my eyelashes stick together, crumble off, smudge or make my eyes sore.
Ideally one that volumes and lengthens.
Oh and I would also like the moon on a stick :)

Can anyone recommend a mascara they've used that fits the bill?

Oh if you have sore eyes op then look at Eye Of Horus mascara. It's brilliant, just a bit pricey.

stayathomer · 16/10/2020 01:03

Roche posay extension mascara, feels like you have nothing on your lashes but lengthens nicely, great for day time

Another vote for Lancôme. I use Doll Eyes waterproof. Love it.

PolkadotGiraffe · 16/10/2020 01:09

@Oly4

Any Lancôme Hypnose. Amazing
This. Or Glossier "Lash Stick"
BabyPigeon · 16/10/2020 18:05

Volume a porter, from Lancome.

PastramiNoRye · 16/10/2020 18:47

Second Big Monsieur!

DesperatelySeekingSunshine · 16/10/2020 19:20

At Christmas time Lancôme do a really good value set of their mascaras... one big one, then three minis. Great for trying them all out.
I usually buy the set in the January sales, when it’s even cheaper and they last me all year!

Agree with Essence Lash Princess

pineapplecrazylady · 18/10/2020 18:04

I would second both of the first 2 recommendations, the Hourglass (for a bit more glamour) and the Clinique Lash power - both the “tubing” type and both brilliant. Smudged mascara my whole life until I discovered tubing mascaras !

TheSeedsOfADream · 18/10/2020 18:07

Dior Pump n Volume. It makes me look like I've had extensions and a tint.
I've tried numerous high street ones, Benefit They're Real (they're also in streaks down your face in five minutes) Lancome Hypnose (meh) and Clinique Lash Power. The Clinique was on a BOGOF and it's OK, it lengthens but doesn't give me the volume I need.

LifesTooShortForYourNonsense · 18/10/2020 18:14

Another vote for tubing mascara, anything else smudges on me. Maybelline was awful, made lashes dry and brittle, now use castor oil at night and much improved

Mamahotfoot · 18/10/2020 19:14

I like the Maybelline waterproof one that is in a dark blue case. I think it’s called a rocket. It’s the only one I can use that doesn’t give me panda-eye!

Itsalwayssunnyupnorth · 18/10/2020 19:19

Another vote for benefit roller lash, I also like the Bobbi brown mascaras and YSL baby doll. I have found all of these are also fine if you have sensitive eyes/wear contacts.

MsMiaWallace · 18/10/2020 19:24

@withlotsoflove I love an Avon mascara.
Is the 5 in 1 waterproof?

ARealActualKaren · 18/10/2020 19:26

I've used Lancôme Hypnose for years but have just ordered the new Charlotte Tilbury to try for a change

Branleuse · 18/10/2020 19:28

Essence ( wilkos) no more panda eyes

nixso29 · 18/10/2020 19:29

Maybelline lash sensational waterproof. I use the black one with Argan oil aswell its equally as good

TiddlesUpATree · 18/10/2020 19:34

I have tried loads but always end up going back to max factor 2000 calorie. It doesn't irritate my eyes and doesn't smudge.

247SylviaPlath · 18/10/2020 19:45

Tubing mascara - Clinique (must be the lash power one as several have mentioned it) - it’s not my favourite ever in terms of volume - but does not budge an inch at all ever - for that it is amazing!

Mozartinmyfanjo · 18/10/2020 19:47

Another vote for Hourglass. Easy to apply, no smudges, no crumble, stays on whole day, easy to remove. I went through Lancôme, Chanel, Dior, YSL and many others this one is by far the best. I have very sensitive eyes and it is probably the only mascara that does not make them sting or water.

Adifferentcorner · 18/10/2020 19:47

I’ve tried a few over the years, but my favourite is Lancôme definicils. Wouldn’t use anything else now. It is pricey, but I find it lasts a long time.

withlotsoflove · 19/10/2020 13:59

@MsMiaWallace l don’t think it’s waterproof. Try it though. It’s brilliant. I must have tried hundreds since ‘88 🤣
I’ll try and and get a picture!

I need a fantastic mascara! Have you got one you can recommend?
MsMiaWallace · 19/10/2020 14:08

Oh yeah! Your lashes look great!

withlotsoflove · 19/10/2020 14:13

@MsMiaWallace thanks!
You’ll love it

fantasmasgoria1 · 19/10/2020 14:26

The best mascaras I have ever had was a couple by kiko milano. Can't remember which but they were very good. Soap and glory thick and fast is good too. Another really good one is by w7 lashtastic. I have tried really expensive to very cheap and the above are my favourite. Primark ones are reasonable.
