Anyone use wardrobe organiser apps?

I'd like an app that I could use to plan outfits from my wardrobe. I don't know which app to download, it would be quite a commitment getting my whole wardrobe on there! Does anyone use a wardrobe organiser app? Would you recommend?

I've only tried a couple (can't remember the name) and they were just difficult to use and full of adverts probably because they were free versions. So I went old school and just added it into a spreadsheet. I'll get round to colour co-ordinating it and organising by season/type ect but for now its enough for me just to have a list of all the things I do own so when I start looking at new stuff I can check and realise I already own something similar.

Thanks for replying. This seems like such an easy app to get right but I haven't seen one with good reviews yet.

I used to I spent so long going through everything and taking photos and I don't think I ever actually used it. I'll need to maybe try again. Although I like the spreadsheet idea. I feel I would be much quicker at that.

i used snupps to do something similar but got bored taking all the pics so gave up

Thanks for more responses.
I'm wondering about the spreadsheet. I just want something where I can see all my clothes by type and colour so I don't buy what I already have it forget about things when putting together outfits.

I use Stylebook app it's great!

I've been using Stylebook for 6+ years and it's brilliant. Takes a while to set up (as PP says, look for images online) but it's revolutionised how I use my wardrobe.

Makes it a cinch to check you have things to wear new purchase with, reduces repeat purchasing (ooh I like those navy trousers.. how many pairs of navy trousers do I have already? Oh), plan outfits for work (when I'm in the office!) which saves so much time in the mornings, makes it easy to see what I'm not wearing for wardrobe purges.

There's a wish list function which I use to "save" things I like and check when they go into a sale (and see if I still want them by then). There's even a packing list section which is a major part of my holiday planning! Honestly I love it.

Only real downside is that it's not cross-platform, but there is a hack to back it up to a PC in times of need.

I've wanted stylebook, still hasn't come over to android though

IDontMindMarmite · 13/10/2020 21:39

Ah I wondered that as I couldn't find it

Sorry! I forgot it was iPhone only (can't believe the developers still haven't sorted that). In Your Closet looks like it's a similar thing.

I also dabbled with Cladwell (don't know if they are on Android as well) but didn't bother with it in the end as was too similar to Stylebook. There's more of an emphasis on outfit suggestions I think, so good if you want that. Think it's subscription based now.

Tried it and they were terrible. Wouldn't recommend. Just sort your outfit the day before and mornings are a lot less stressful

Zinnia · 14/10/2020 09:17

Just sort your outfit the day before

That's what these apps do, it's just convenient to be able to do the planning on the bus/in the supermarket queue etc rather than at 11.00pm when you're knackered and staring vacantly into a physical wardrobe.

It's not for everyone obviously, but lots of people find it really beneficial and quite fun as well.

I like Stylebook on my iPad. I like the way it keeps a running total of the cost of your wardrobe which is a bit eye opening. Definitely easier adding new items than going back to photograph and document everything. I haven’t quite done all my clothes but that’s interesting in itself as the ones I haven’t are clearly not worn. (At the moment, as I’m not getting out much, I’m retrospectively recording what I wore on the calendar, not outfit planning so much)

I like having an outfit "in the bank", as it were for when I realise I've got a Zoom in 5 mins and am still in my PJs, so do plan forward still but at least 50% of the time end up wearing something different depending on how I feel on the day/ the weather/ if the heating is on or not.
