Best sleepsuits for long legged babies?!

Where is best for sleepsuits for long babies? My baby is due in December and is expected to be average weight but long. Me and my boyfriend are both lanky and my mum struggled with sizings when I was a baby due to me being so long and thin!

I've mainly invested in up to 1month/newborn up to 10lbs so far but feel like I should get some smaller newborn bits just in case these are huge on him.

Next "first size" (up to 7.8lb) seem to be so short on the leg!

Recommendations please! Go go go :)

Footless ones! Next do a few, so do Frugi and Joules. Duns and Maxomorra do zipped ones which are really practical. Also get Sock-Ons....they keep socks on (genuinely, they’re a brilliant invention).

Lindex do some with fold down/grow-with-me cuffs but they are cut generously in the bum to accommodate big cloth nappies....

My baby is 5 weeks old & despite being a teeny 6lbs 9oz he was very long with long feet, it’s been a nightmare to get baby gros! The newborn are too small now (they did fit when he was born), up to 1 month are starting to get tight at the feet but fit everywhere else & the 0-3months fit his feet but are baggy everywhere else! I’ve invested in some leggings & footless ones for now! The bonus is that his socks all fit him perfectly Grin

I had long babies. I cut the feet off the baby grows.

Sunshine0620 · 12/10/2020 22:17

H&M seem to do a lot of footless styles which might be a good option?

AyDeeAitchDee · 12/10/2020 22:19

You can get some lovely ones which are like long gowns with elastic at the bottom.

Great for night time nappy changes too.

Highly recommend Hatley. I have a long, thin baby and we have loads of these suits. They do with or without feet versions. The footed ones are particularly good if your baby has big feet too.
Agree with others about footless in general, H&M have some nice ones at the moment. Joules is always lovely, same with JoJo. Also like the look of Bonds Wondersuits, but never had any.

Mylittlesandwich · 12/10/2020 22:25

I like lindex baby grows. They have no feet and a zip which is much easier than poppers.

I think m&s babygrows are always long in the leg (but short in the arms which is weird). I would look on ebay and get some second hand as a way of trying out a range e.g. People sell bundles which are often from a range of shops.

Also bundlers are great - no legs but a bit like a long nightdress for babies. Quite hard to find, John Lewis have one on their website.

INeedNewShoes · 12/10/2020 22:48

I found Boots and Jojo sleepsuits incredibly short in the leg so I'd avoid those brands.

DD was tiny generally but too long for her gorgeous 'newborn' size Jojo babygros that we received as gifts when she was born.

Actually Mothercare seemed to have the longest legs. You could see if you can get any on eBay.

John Lewis legs were fairly long too.

I liked M&S for my leggy baby. But the absolute best thing in the early days was those wee gowns you get in John Lewis and some other places (Milkbarn is a lovely if dear brand). So much easier for changing nappies.

AgentCooper · 12/10/2020 22:51

And Jojo, Mamas and Papas, H&M and Morrison’s were outgrown very quickly.

I'd do the opposite of footless (I can't abide the sock battle). I'd go for leggings with feet on. Both my children lived in them until they were walking. I combined these with long sleeved bodysuits and cardigans.
H&M do some lovely ones.

Footless ones!

Agree with PPs, definitely avoid JoJo sleepsuits, they have weirdly short legs. I had the same issue in that JoJo newborn size sleepsuits were too short for my newborns (who were quite tall/long but not freakishly so).

Also agree about the sleep gowns - also called bundlers. So handy for night time nappy changes.

olderthanyouthink · 13/10/2020 01:29

@AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken I planned to dress tiny DD in those leggings but her feet were too big Confused everything else about her is/was tiny but her feet

Albgo · 13/10/2020 06:48

@olderthanyouthink my baby's feet were too big for leggings like that as well.
