Long cardigan for short person

My lovely cosy Fatface cardigan has gone bobbly after 5 years of faithful service. I would like a cardigan that is bum to mid thigh length (bearing on mind I am 5 ft tall). Probably grey, black or charcoal. Extra points if it has a hood.

I am a couple of inches taller than you but have just bought this and it’s very comfy! Has a hood, pockets and everything...

Ooh yes please can we have a petite thread! 5’1 and a half, size 8/10 ish if someone sets it up can you tag me please?

TooMinty · 09/10/2020 14:24

@popularinthe80s - it was your idea so are you going to start the thread? You can put a link to it in this one too so people can find it 😊

I had a petite shopping problem this morning. Just needed new socks but I have size 3 feet so one size is too big for me. Primark did 3-5 last year but none this year. Eventually found very limited selection in H&M. Not especially soft or cosy but will have to do...

I recently bought two sweater dresses from ebay auction, both new with tags on,They are both good brand names, and Autumn-Winter type, got them for £3, each. I have made them into longish cardigans now, and they look great. One is Cream coloured, and the other is autumn browns and green..

TooMinty · 09/10/2020 18:04

Wow that sounds a bit to clever for me! How do you convert them? Do you do lots of clothes adaptations?

On the sock question I have had some success in Asda George children’s section. I know, I know, no glamour here but they do a 4-5.5 size that works on these size 2.5/3 feet 👍🏻

TooMinty · 09/10/2020 20:19

I live in the only town without an Asda it feels like 😡
I feel like there used to be a few places that did small socks (Primark, M&S, Next etc).

I will pop some Asda ones on my next order for school uniforms for the kids.

I have Gap kids socks but again had to order them. In Primark, even the kids one were too big for me 😂

Got this yesterday, it comes to just above my knee but it fits well and look great. Am 5ft 1, size 12

MrsMime · 10/10/2020 16:29

I recently bought this. No hood but cosy...

I didn't realise it was kid's range at first - I thought I was still in the petite section. Turns out that at 5 ft 1.5, I'm an age 12 Grin. It's not as dark in real life.

Ineedflour · 10/10/2020 18:15

Woolovers do some lovely ones. I'm 5.1 and they fit me well. I've recommended their slippers today too, I sound ancient! Grin

Peachypips78 · 10/10/2020 20:40

@TooMinty we have no Asda either- nearest is 45 mins away 😂

Heading to other thread thanks!

TooMinty · 10/10/2020 22:12

It's really annoying, although probably saves me money - when I lived in a city with an Asda I spent loads on random clothes that neither me nor the kids needed!
