'Curlformers'....has anyone tried them to make long lasting curls?

I suppose the modern day 'rags'.

Various size curls, depending on the kit.

Would be interested to know if they make long lasting curls...my curls made with GHD's are out within half an hour!
Are they as easy to put in as the clip suggests?

I like that these don't need strong heat and would consider the soft hood.

They are so expensive for what they are ?!

I feel Ali express will have something similar .

Also have you seen the dressing gown cord trick?

ForthPlace · 04/10/2020 19:04

Yes, I've seen other similar things on eBay...I suppose I though the expensive ones are made of a different material.

Who knows?

Hi, I've got Curl Formers and they are ace. But take so long I rarely use them. If I'm having a bit of a pampering session I'll get them out, but the stick thing is quite fiddly at first. They left me with amazing curls though Grin

Thank you! I don't mind so much the time taken, if they work. Do you sleep in them to dry?

I don't have them but have watched loads of youtube reviews and am thinking about getting them. The reviews are almost entirely positive from a results perspective. They seem to do what they say they'll do and do it well! But the reviewers that have tried to sleep in them have indicated that this isn't the most comfortable thing!

GrimDamnFanjo · 05/10/2020 09:10

I have them and use them! My tip is to buy the originals from eBay - many people buy then get fed up!
They give great curls but you need to get the stick thing technique and they can be uncomfortable to sleep in. I can sleep in rollers so it's fine.

Buy them direct from the company who markets them, they often have offers on for bundles. I got the waveformers, curlformers cream, soft drying hood, samples of other curlformer styling products, a beach bag, (I use this for all my hair stuff) a notebook & pen for £35. If I had bought from the hairdressers suppliers they would have charged at least £20-30 more.

I use the dressing gown belt method and it works really well. Plus it's free!

PandaAttack · 09/10/2020 20:49

@ForthPlace did you decide to buy some? I don't sleep in them but potter about with them in. I've got v thick, curly/frizzy hair and they give a good result. Different to Babyliss Curl Secret (again fiddly at first) as it does looser curls. With Curl Formers I love taking them out and having perfect ringlets. I think I've tried every method lol!

Stripesnomore · 09/10/2020 21:05

I don’t think I can stand to try yet another tool. None of them ever seem to give as good a result as rollers, and they are so expensive!

Dressing gown belt method is the cheapest of them all Grin And joking apart, gives a lovely result.
ForthPlace · 10/10/2020 20:28

No, not decided yet...is the dressing gown cord method just like 'rags'?

Great to hear that they do work, I'm also thinking of the hood contraption for the drier...might need quickness sometimes, zoom meetings in curlformers might no go down well😂

Sorry, only just seen this. On the off chance that you are still wondering, yes it is a bit like rags but way quicker. The curls are less 'ringletty' than rags, bit look lovely and last.
